RE: Garth Brooks May Surpass Elvis
I stopped listening to Country Music when they coined the phrase new country. It's not country anymore it's what I called bubblegum when I was a way younger.

IMO George Strait and Alan Jackson are the last of the true country artists.

I enjoy a lot of Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean, but I recognize it is a completely different genre than the good stuff from George Strait or Hank Williams Jr. I enjoy both types.

If you want to hear a really great up and coming country artist, listen to Thomas Rhett

It's not country at all. It needs to be on the pop station.

Red Dirt country isn't on the radio, you have to have satellite usually. I was introduced to it by family in Texas. Here's a sample if you're interested, if not, don't bother clicking.

Red Dirt Music originated in Oklahoma. It is named after the red clay.

Indeed, and it's badass... Leaps and bounds better than the crap they play on country stations today.

What pisses me off is how Texas has tried to claim that genre.

Jason Boland probably has the best, or at least my favorite, voice in modern music.
