Chris Hawkins....
Per Grant Milner:

Per a source, Memphis signee Chris Hawkins hopes to join the Tigers in July for the second session of summer school, which begins on July 8th. The 6-foot-4 forward has been finishing up some school work at Southwest CC, but all signs point toward him enrolling next week.

Hawkins might be the biggest wildcard on the roster, but given his motor and athletic ability, it's hard to envision him not seeing time at the U of M.

“Memphis is getting a kid that they are probably not even going to know what is coming," said Southwest coach Jerry Nichols. "He presents mismatch problems for everybody, and he’s a freak of nature. He can jump out of the gym. Memphis doesn’t have a player like him. I know this for a fact. I’ve seen him play at full strength, and I promise you that they don’t know what they are getting. That’s how scary he is.”

Good player but still undersized....Will be a helluva a college kid, but will have trouble getting to NBA unless he hits a Growth Spurt....Or he will need to shed weight, and work on his handles a lot more, and improve his outside shot to become a wing to make it to the NBA level....The World Is Ours Memphis.....

I'm thinking we're going to be jumping out of our seats a lot next season.

Consistency may not be at its peak with these new guys, but there are going to be some really 'fun' times.

How many days till Memphis Madness, anyway?

Much different player than Geron. Much different. He's a power player with a decent outside shot. The player, to me at least, that he compares to is Anthony Tolbert from back in the early 90s. Undersized power player. Hawkins is at least 6-5 (he says he's 6-6) not that that matters too much and weighs a STRONG 245.

If you aren't familiar with Tolbert, just think of Sylvester Gray. Hawkins compares more to him than Geron.
