Idaho Vandals make a major move
So ... I have a few webcam feeds up on my desktop that refresh every few minutes. One of them is a view into LAX domestic heavy takeoff just behind Asiana Cargo superheavy loading/unloading.

Lookie what is parked over at LAX .......

I have no idea what they're doing at LAX ... but found it interesting.

You may not have heard ..... but LAX isn't in Idaho.

Why is their plane in LAX? Are they trying to hire someone? Let's get some FAA tail number monitoring going.

Why do you keep a Webcam for the LA Airport on your computer?

Pretty sure this is not affiliated with the university.

Horizon Air has several regional planes that feature the logos of Pacific Northwest schools and I think fly into LAX.

It is part of my monitoring app. I go to LA every year on business and stay in a LAX hotel. The Hilton and Westin are particularly good for having rooms where your view is directly into LAX ... great plane watching.

The cams on the right from top down: Sydney Harbor, Australia .... LAX .... Panama Canal ... Big Rig Travels .... Random Eye Candy from a google image script I cobbled together.

Is Horizon a freight airliner? Where that plane is coming out is right by the Asiana Cargo 747/767 unloading area. This is a pretty long way from the primary terminals. The only passenger stuff that far out is American Eagle's terminals.... which I think they have to bus people to/from. Here is what this area typically looks like:

If it is an Idaho airplane, not one randomly generated by an airline, and it looks like it is....
it must be an airport meeting. Idaho is in discussions with another conference. After two
years of wanting into the Sun Belt, even claiming they would beg if it helped, and them due
to enter the Sun Belt tomorrow, they are playing footloose and fancy free. Of course, it
could be they flew it there for more specific maintenance or upgrades, particularly since
school is out right now. I used to fly out of Charlotte but occasionally flew to another airport
for something specific. Bet they are joining the Pac-12, MWC, or the FCS Big Sky. Joke will
be on us.

This ^

I flew through Seattle last year on my way to a wedding near Walla Walla and saw them all over the Seattle airport. They have a lot of the Pac-12, Mountain West and Big Sky logo's on their regional planes.

Nothing to get worked up over.

Horizon air also flies Montana and Boise State airplanes. It's a passenger airliner.

No pun intended to the fans of Georgia State but I seem to remember this picture of a very big passenger plane with the GaSt logo that was posted several years ago even before the panthers joined the conference.

I was kidding also particularly about it being an airport type conference changing meeting. Just figured it was one of the airlines planes.

maybe that plane is new to them since they are beginning an era of cross country travel for football games. could be that's where they took delivery. some snooping around might reveal the flight plan..many schools have rich donors that will allocate a plane or two or the school to use but I can tell you that a custom paint job on a plane like that is a sizable expense so I cant imagine anyone having that done just for grins..

Making the dash trash look sexy for for once!

BJC has a plane too, and it was supposed to fly the Moscow-Boise route one day. We'll our AD had to go to a booster meeting in Boise, walked out on the tarmac, saw it, and decided to drive 90 miles to Spokane to get a different flight to Boise.

Also, I went to a WSU-USC game a few years back and the Q400 in UW livery flew over the stadium on final and got booed by the coug fans! Pretty funny to see, especially since the cougs ended up losing 69-0!
