Is that a problem? If so, why?

Besides, I never said I wasn't interested. I'm a Memphian and I love basketball, why would I not be interested? I have said that I'm not a fan, per se, although one season I attended more than 30 home games. Last season I attended 4.

Perhaps you have mistaken my belief that the NBA is closer to the WWE than to actual sports leagues as indifference, but if people could be fans of Saturday morning wrestling, then surely I have the right to comment on a team in my hometown that I have paid money to watch play.

That's just silly.

LOL...well, that's a cogent response.

The NBA isn't perfect but if you think it's staged, or whatever, there's nothing I can say to convince you otherwise.

Anyway, I didn't mean to derail the thread. Good for Joe, hopefully he makes the most of the opportunity. I imagine he's going to wind up overseas but I've been wrong before(once).

I'm feeling really lucky. I get excited about every pro team a Tiger is on, in addition to the one based in Memphis.

Personally, watching a Tiger play adds interest to the game and it is fun seeing their dream of playing in the NBA fulfilled.

No kidding. I buy the package that gets me the most NBA games and DVR them. My friend and I know exactly when Will the Thrill gets put in games. Sometimes we fast forward. lol. We've got the analytics part down.

Rob- A) even if I did, so what?

B) I like the Grizzlies. I want the Grizzlies to succeed. I always have. When they moved here I had quit watching the NBA because it was obvious that the officiating was either rigged (in some games, not all) or incompetent, and the the 'lottery' was suspiciously delivering the best recruits to the teams that were the best fit for them despite the odds. However, for a while I ignored these beliefs and spent a lot of time and money going to the games. It was great fun, even though the team wasn't all that great.

Now I view them as entertainment that I can take or leave, but in the summer doldrums I do enjoy discussing them. I know this upsets some posters, I had one such PM me and pretty much tell me that if I wasn't a die hard I had no right to say anything about them, and accuse me of being dishonest on the board.

Man, people do get wound up about this stuff.

So what do you think his chances are of sticking somewhere? I actually think he's got a shot at a 3rd backup, if he can get his 3 pt. percentage up.

With the Kings, he has a shot for second back up. They might not keep Isaiah T. (5'9" but very strong lol) You should see Cousins protect him sometimes, when Thomas rushes into a rumble.

Pretty close to zero. Putting it bluntly, Joe doesn't have the heart and fearlessness to make it in the NBA. Unless that magically changes I don't see him in the NBA or every reaching his athletic potential.

For every play like that there were 10 where Joe was either too scared to shoot or dribble into traffic, etc. Plays like that are why I mentioned his potential.

It is staged, and has been proven. Lawler should be the Coach--and Jimmy Hart the GM. The Commish should be Lance Russell.

There's plenty of room for both. There's room for Tiger football, too, so hopefully they join the party.

I'm looking at the Lady Tigers. Room for all things Tiger and all things Memphis. Once a Tiger always a Tiger.

Once a Grizzlies, always a Grizzlies!! Ok..now I'm overdoing it.

Once a Grizz always a grizz, you are correct----but I liked them better when Danny White played for them and most people called them the SOUTHMEN.

If it's heart and fearlessness you're looking for, then focus more on College Athletics--both men and women. Pros of any sport are already getting paid. They don't need to send their food money home to their families. Pro mamas might even be in the wings waiting for a kiss during halftime. College athletes play through their cramps.

Pro athletes know the ropes; they know they are expected to entertain. If they can't be the most superior athlete on the block, they can paint their bodies up really special.

You missed the point. Also, that cliche just doesn't hold water.

Anyone know if JJ is playing in Las Vegas too, as well as Orlando. Be great to see him in action this Summer. They do televise a lot of Summer League Games.

Fair enough. Certainly nothing in his college career tells me he has that intangible spark that could get him to the NBA, although I do disagree about this heart.
