BREAKING! There May Be Enough Invalidated Votes to Overturn Cochran Victory
The Chris McDaniel campaign has identified multiple Mississippi counties in which enough improper ballots have been cast that a legal challenge to the outcome of the election is warranted.

I basically viewed McDaniel's campaign with approval, but he needs to concede this race and move on. The longer it takes him to do that, the more he is just poisoning the well for his own future.

Liberals have made it a goal to destroy the GOP from within. They have been hard at work getting their own elected under the GOP ticket. This is just another example of that.

Leftists do like to rail against reality.

I say that as we're enjoying a very pleasant summer day.

Good luck to McDaniel.

yeah, let's drag this thing out for months, and then whichever candidate gets to the general election is crippled, broke, and battered.

no, wait. let's see if we can drag this thing out until just before election day.

let's do everything we can to try to give this seat to the dems.

It's bull**** and I would be furious if it happened to a candidate I supported. You can't let the your opponent choose your candidate. If I was in a red state like that though I would be a a Republican and vote for a fiscally liberal and social conservative one. How do we change it or should we change it? Parties change all the time. What if the black vote all changed to the GOP? The fiscal liberal social conservative would win.

Is that why Cochran had to have democrats cross over and win him the runoff? He didn't win the majority of republican votes from what I understand from a news report, don't know it that's true or not.

If Cockring relied on the dems to "win" the primary, he's going to have to rely on them to win the general. He made his own bed. I don't play the D vs R team politics anymore and Cockring is the 4th most liberal republican in the senate. Would a one-term democrat from Missipy really be that much worse?

Cochran is no liberal. He did what he had to do to win the election. That's what republicans need to learn from democrats. You first do what you have to do to win the election, and THEN you go about implementing your agenda.

Instead of wasting energy here, republicans need to put all their energy behind Cochran and focus instead on winning elections that are up for grabs elsewhere. Focus on how to win the seats needed to go +6 in the senate, not how to screw up and go -1 in what should be a safe seat here. You may not agree 100% with Cochran, but I'm guessing the percentage is miles higher with Cochran than it is with Harry Reid. And that's effectively the choice for Mississippi republicans.

Funny that that those like you that constantly rap about the direction the republican party has taken are always the ones on here defending the republicans that have been in power. As far as the bolded part, see my above post. He is one of the most liberal republicans in the US Senate. I would be more interested in the party politics if the leadership offered something. I'm not interested in voting for someone to tow the Boehner line. Throw out the leadership and replace it with people that hold values and maybe people will worry more about "winning" for the "team".

Most folks don't vote in primaries...good luck invalidating over 6,000 votes, lol

That would still make him less liberal than Democrats in the US Senate. Owl is right - better to have a majority in the senate with Cochran being one of the Republicans than let Harry Reid to continue controlling everything that goes through the Senate.

I'll take a more RINO Republican than a Democrat that will vote lockstep with Harry.

It really isn't a choice.

It did cross my mind that he just took the gloves off, but there was no danger of a Democrat winning.
