Congrats to Vandy on its first men's national title
Beat a very good Virginia team 3-2 in the College World Series final last night for their first men's NCAA championship.

And congrats to Ole Miss and Texas for making the Final Four. 04-cheers

Congrats Vandy! Busting out the SEC chant was classic...must be like the 40 year old virgin geting laid! Great run in the CWS...party in Nashville this weekend.

Way to go Vandy! Showed all the jack wagons who want you out to fit their dumb realignment scenario!

Congrats indeed! First title in men's sports ever. Second national title overall (women's bowling).

I was rooting for Vandy too but I hated their pitcher. That kid was said to be a "fiery competitor" which I have come to understand is a euphemism for "flaming arsehole who is good enough to justify us tolerating his nonsense."

I guess the ACC curse is real. It's quite baffling considering the general strength of Baseball in the ACC.

I didn't have a rooting interest in the game other than Brian O'Connor used to be the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at ND.

For what it is worth ( not that much), Virginia's loss clinched the men's Director's Cup for ND.

I thought Stanford was so far ahead that they got awarded it already?

I get that in the great frozen north, basketball is the end all be all, but down here, most folks respect baseball a hell of a lot more than basketball.

Next year is the 60th Anniversary of the last ACC CWS Champion so maybe that will be the year. I will say as much as I hate Uncheat 03-puke The back to back years they lost in the CWS Championship game they were stacked with pitching including the year they had two pitchers go in the Top 10 draft picks. I thought UVA would win it this year and end the curse but the curse lives on.

Vanderbilt has been in a major conference since the beginning of time and now has 2 ncaa championships in any sport. Assuming bowling makes it into a southern respect category. That's some major conference athletic department, competing at the highest levels.

Begrudgingly ---- congrats to the SEC. The SEC had 10 teams make the field and 2 made it to Omaha. The Big 12 had 3 teams make it to Omaha and couldn't get it done.

Congrats to Vandy. I hope my Red Raiders can do better next year.

We get it, you Huskies are pissed that no power conference wants you right now. Make some shirts that say "Angry that we're not in the P5", they'll sell like crazy at all AAC games to both home and visiting fans.

But choice is still a factor.

The SEC still WANTS to associate with Vanderbilt. I know that means nothing to bitter G5 fans but too bad. You don't get to dictate who we choose to associate with.

Vanderbilt does a very good job running its athletic program. Is is still run within the intermural department? (That is no shot, far from it, I am amazed if they can do that)

Vandy is 1-1 against the lowly AAC great frozen north basketball school of Uconn in football since UConn joined FBS including a 40-21 beat down 4 years ago. Maybe Vandy should focus more on football too.

Maybe UConn fans should just congratulate Vandy and save the sour grapes for other threads

Yeah, that's why the College World Series is as popular as the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament - because of basketball's popularity in the frozen north.

Different culture out your way than here on the west coast, for sure. Especially regarding my alma mater.
