Nice try but you got that one backwards. You cannot separate the ideology. You are referring to confused liberals.

RE: Question for RINO/social conservative-fiscally liberal posters?
Here is what the poster-boy for that philosophy has to say:

Quote:Former Arkansas governor and presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee says a Kurdish state would be good for the region.

"The Kurds really are the one group of people in Iraq that America should be grateful for and trying to help," Huckabee said. "They could create a stable government and a sensible sane government and I think we should do everything humanly possible to encourage at least one piece of that region to be stable."

It's a historic time for the region because if the Kurds do declare a state they'll begin to re-draw the borders of a new Middle East.

I have a feeling Turkey would have a major problem with that.

As long as we take no actual part in a conflict I am 100% fine with arming the Kurds to the teeth in secret.

None of my concern. I'm more an isolationist. I don't want war if we aren't going to benefit from it, and after 2 stints in Iraq already, we clearly don't have the fortitude or political will to take the oil so that Americans get some benefit. In fact, the opposite is true. The more we get involved over there, the higher oil and gas prices go. I was just responding to the OP. When I think of socially conservative and economically liberal, Mike Huckabee was what came to mind.

No. It didn't work last time, and it probably wouldn't this time.

RE: Question for RINO/social conservative-fiscally liberal posters?
We should go in if and only if we have a specific and desirable end result in mind and we are wholly committed to obtaining it and we plan to kill all the bad guys, or at least kill them until they get tired of dying, and break all their toys.

Right now, I don't think we know who are the bad guys and who are the good guys. Except I think it's pretty clear that the Kurds bleong in the good column. That kind of puts a kink in working out the details I have outlined.

So, not no, hell no.

I am socially conservative and fiscally center to perhaps a touch left, depending on the issue.

That has zero to do with my opinion on Iraq, which is no.

At least you are willing to admit what you are there are a ton of big government conservatives here from what I have seen. Your representatives feel we need to enter. Glad to hear you go against the grain though.

I have a feeling Turkey would have a major problem with that.

Why? The Kurds are one of Turkey's biggest trading partners. There have been stories of possible Turkey-Kurdistan deals if Kurdistan were to declare independence.
