2014 C-USA Schedules (overall & conf) compared by last years records
Below is everyone's schedules and the W-L record of each opponent. Below this I sorted it by overall then by conference. What I noticed is the strongest teams from last year...Rice, Marshall, MUTS, UNT plays the easiest schedules ...out and in conference. At least going by how each school finished last year.

It's kind of hard to read the schedules in the boards format...click on it will enlarge the picture

EDIT: just realized I left out ODU..not on purpose. I guess that kind of thing happens when you are doing numbers at 3am I will add ODU later today

I am having a hard time equating "easy" with a schedule that has North Texas, UTSA, @Marshall, @Notre Dame and @Texas A&M. You wanted C-USA to also send Rice to WKU or FAU instead of FIU?

The Rice out of conference schedule should not be grouped with Marshall.

I know that it doesn't much matter now, but I want everyone to understand that our OOC schedule was supposed to include Louisville and not Rhode Island. They forced us to move it back to 2016 because Notre Dame was put on their schedule because of the ACC/ND partnership. What would you do if you were Louisville, come to Huntington, WV and potentially lose, or go to FIU and beat them with a running clock again. I dont blame them, but it really screwed us on our schedule strength. Btw, they did this last summer so we had a limited amount of time to find a game. Obviously we all wanted a better team but at the same time we needed a home game to have 6 home games. No name school is going to come to Huntington at the last minute against possibly the best G5 school in the country this year. It was the perfect storm.

This was sorted by the number of wins your opponents had last year. So in that context Rice has one of the "easier" schedules

Well the conference could have gave you @MUTS, @Marshall, @FAU. Western is the only eastern school that isn't playing FIU. Of course none of this means anything in college football....

many many teams have a 2 to 4 game swing from one season to the next. Was really looking forward to traveling to Rice this year but not with the away schedule C-USA game Western.

Why do they have WKU and FIU both playing 3 west teams and not each other? Makes no sense. Never mind, guess the west teams wouldn't have enough conference games with the unbalanced divisions.

When you beat most of your opponents, your opponents' records get worse.

Tech will finish between 4 and 10 wins. If they dont play better than last year which would be almost impossible they get 2 wins. My guess is the last game will be important and they some how beat rice and go 6-6. If they do better than 1-4 through the first 5, they will contend for the west. 1-4 equals long year number 2 and Holtz will feel real heat and may be released if the team does not improve.
