Lol. I'm not so sure thats an upgrade unless the team is stupid enough to run right at him, but I've never seen the kid play so who knows maybe he's amazing at that size.

We played St. Francis (PA) last year and they had a DL (I think) that was over 400lbs, his helmet mysteriously came off every couple of plays so he would have to come off the field regularly...not real athletic that one.

Haha true. Although I'd have to believe there is a significant difference in Louisiana recruiting a guy that big and St. Francis recruiting a guy that big. Kinda interested to see the guy play.

Thomas is more pro-style than Browning so that should be interesting to see. I fully expect to see Thomas as the starter this season. He has about 6,000 career yards so he knows how to throw the ball, just gotta improve the TD-interception ratio.

I view the Warhawks in the 4th-5th place slot in the conference at this point.

Browning had certain intangibles that can't be taught in leadership and performing under pressure for his teammates. Broadway has shown to have that it factor as well, winning a bowl game with a broken arm.

Nothing I've read about Thomas suggest that he has anything close to that in him, bucking competition at his two previous stops. Let's see if he can hold up under pressure when things go south, or if he folds like a cheap chair after the first signs of trouble.

Didn't realize Georgia Southern is only playing 2 teams out of 12 that had winning seasons last year:

"Georgia Southern: The Eagles move from the FCS to the FBS via the Sun Belt conference will be made easier with a schedule that includes only two winning opponents from last season. On tap for Georgia Southern are Georgia Tech (7-6) and Navy (9-4). That leaves FCS Savannah State and a whopping nine teams that hooked up for a 34-74 (31%) record last season. The Eagles will play 83 percent of their 2014 schedule against FCS teams or FBS teams that didn't break .500 last year."

We are also, but playing twice as many winning teams also.

1 difference is that we are not playing Louisiana and Ark. St. and I believe App. is playing both of them. Don't know how schedule was made but certainly us not playing either of top 2 teams in the Sun Belt makes our schedule appear weaker.

Wow! I don't think I've ever heard of a college football fan who hasn't heard the term Parade All-American before.
Not a slam of you, just really surprised. Parade's high school All-American team is the granddaddy of them all.
Maybe it's a generational thing?

I know AtlantaJag to be a good poster on here so I didn't take it as a slam. I'll concede to this. I'm 26, I've only been following college football since 2006. In those eight years, I've never heard it mentioned once, and I follow Troy / College Football pretty closely. I'll take your word(s) for it that it's a big deal. Just surprised that a Parade AA only had offers from Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech.

Though, at second glance, he's listed as 5-10, and P5 programs just don't offer kids to play quarterback at that size. Troy has a JUCO transfer, also 5-10, who is a NJCAA 1st Team AA quarterback and set the all time NJCAA record for total offense. His offers were Monroe and UAB. No P5 programs offered him.

Had either Knighten or Pruitt been 6-2 or higher, they may have been rated 4-Star quarterbacks with offers from high up P5 schools. If anyone remembers Dwight Dasher, NFL scouting reports list him at 5-9. He had a pretty good year in the SBC where his dual threat abilities crushed everyone including a good southern miss team. Small QBs can work in the SBC.

Lol. I'm not so sure thats an upgrade unless the team is stupid enough to run right at him, but I've never seen the kid play so who knows maybe he's amazing at that size.

Would think it would maybe not be known to people that never took the Sunday newspapers. Since Parade was a Sunday newspaper supplement.

From what I understand, our 2015 was supposedly the same as our 2014, but home and away flipped. If this is true, we won't see you guys until 2016, and I'm sure it will be at your place.

would love to talk with all involved in making the schedules, how we get the 2 best teams back to back at their places, the second game on a 5 day turnaround, but GS doesn't play either one. We have almost no chance in the second game, and the first one we are going to be heavy underdogs. Would love to know the rational behind it, would have thought they would/could have balanced it better.
