If the government gets something right, I really don't give a damn who gets the credit.

Some presidents get that. Others, not so much.

If the Republicans get two-thirds of the Senate, Obama will become the first president to be impeached AND convicted.

They won't get two-thirds, but a simple majority would shut him down.

He's shut down now. I would argue that with a republican senate, he would certainly see more legislation get to his desk. He would veto the majority of it, obviously, but if he still has his spot picked out on mt. rushmore, maybe he "discovers" common sense the same way Clinton did after 1994.

I know. Snowballs chance in hell. But he's already shut down, compliments of weazen nutjob harry reid.

All Hail gridlock! All Hail gridlock!

It's the ONLY snowballs chance in hell we have to ride out this horrific storm.

I hope some of our younger, junior members are paying attention. This is what a failed presidency looks like. Much as us old fogeys had to endure and fight, tooth and nail to scrap through the liberal debacle that was president peanut, we did.

And we're smarter, tougher and more resilient for it. But we, as you, should never, ever hope to endure such a time again. Why? cause it sucks.

There's clearly a better way, it's right there in front of anyone's face. What's been going on for the last 6 + yrs is an abject failure, foreign and domestic.

Admit it, accept it, and agree it's time to move on. This has been a schiity half decade +. No "weapons ban" or gay marriage evolution, will change that. Time to move on, and move forward. Let's put the adults back in charge, eh?

NO. There are a lot of things this Socialist can do in the next two years that no one can stop. I expect he will wield a bunch of executive orders before he leaves office.

He will probably pardon and free all Gitmo prisoners on His last day in office.

Can he pardon her for crimes that she has not been charged with yet?

Remember Harry Reid changed the Senate rules on a simple majority. The nuclear option would be in the hands of the Republicans. Then a Repub House and Senate could flood the WH with bills that present their agenda but O would be forced to veto. Then every one would become a campaign issue in 2016.

And if the Repubs win control, Ruth Bader may not be able to hang on until another Dem Pres..

But it didn't have to be this way. All Obama had to do was run Clinton's playbook.

But Obama can't run the Clinton play book. Clinton was center left, between the crazies on the far left and the crazies on the far right, so he could triangulate effectively. Obama is left of the crazies on the left.

I don't think his Presidency ever got started.

I mean think of it like this... Most people in those positions aspire to get a big accolade before leaving office. He won the Nobel Peace Prize before taking the oath.

And who could forget his infamous quote:
"I'd rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president"

Too bad he wasn't.

I never got the feeling that Obama had a legitimate political position. Just that once in office he would lead as if his side had won a battle. Thus is his ability to actually govern never materialized.

If only.

Yes. And with him now separated from electoral reality and not afraid to use his "phone and pen" and quite willing to make up his own law as he goes along, we are perhaps entering the most dangerous portion of his time as President.

At least Clinton never backed the Muslim Brotherhood like Zero has.

I'm kind of with you on this. It's been an almost lost decade. We've just trundled along, and aside from the pending disaster that is zerOcare, what of real, inspirational import has this guy ever championed?
Jobs growth? Years in the making and uhhh, nope (remember "millions of shovel ready jobs"? lulz). Steer us towards a roaring recovery? just the opposite. Leaner, smarter Government? 03-lmfao
Most transparent admin evaah? Transparently corrupt, perhaps.

What? Ending the wars? Yea, way to go. Closing Gitmo and "repairing our image in the world"? Again, 03-lmfao

You can stack them like cord wood. Failure upon failure. Makes you wonder if he's even managed to shave a stroke or two off the handicap, otherwise he has truly wasted two terms in office.

The Republicans should find a way to pass several dozen if not several hundred bills while Obama is on vacation, one of them being the repeal of the Affordable Care Act. If he fails to explicitly veto it, the bill repealing the ACA becomes law within 10 days. The only catch is it can't be done in the last 10 days of his term.

Interesting idea, and I'd think pretty simple to pull off. When is he NOT on vacation?

Can't say I ever had any thoughts along those lines. It seemed pretty apparent to me that Obama was going to push us as hard toward socialism/communism as he possibly could. Fortunately, first the blue dogs and then the republicans have made sure that was not very far. This is one case where gridlock is far preferable to either side getting their way. No matter what
