I've been outspoken regarding Bergdahl for a few years and even more outspoken this past week; however, I can't support death threats aimed at his family. I can't blame them for wanting their son home. Sh*t I'd want my son to come home regardless of the circumstances. I still feel that he needs to go to Court Martial for desertion, but some needs to chill with those death threats.

*note: I didn't see any on this board, just heard about it on the news circuits this morning.

Someone who would wish ill on his family is nuts.
There are a lot of questions to be answered but I'm glad the young man is home. If he was a deserter he should stand in front of a military court and be judged for whatever he did. If he deserted proper punishment should be handed down. He should receive no special treatment based on his now notoriety.

That's besides the point regarding death threats even if there are little chances of them being pulled off.

it's wrong. It's illegal. The people making the threats should be tracked down and punished.

there are indeed some less than noble things going on out there as a result of the president destroying these people's lives. hannity has had a widow and the parents of some of the young men that were killed while looking for the deserter.

I assume they were angry about the whole thing, but I'm not sure. I flipped away. I'm not much for hannity in the first place, but that was very much over the top.

I'm not defending the death threats and any anger directed at the family is wrong, but Obama did put them in the national spotlight.

There are few circumstances a father would not stand by his son, I don't think this is one of them and Bergdahl's family should not be blamed for wanting their son back home safe. He is likely an traitor and should be tried as such so the law decides how to treat him.

ITT: People pretending to be ashamed of the death threats, even though they support them.

The military had advised Bergdahl's family to keep a low profile. Don't know whose idea it was to discard that advise.

Why do you have to be so childish? You have absolutely no idea that anyone would support those threats. I can't recall one poster saying anything the least bit negative about the parents.
