ND's Swarbrick Predicts Stability For Next 10 Years
"We are stable for the next 10 years while the current TV contracts run their course. The means by which we all watch TV 10 years from now will drive what happens next."

http://csnbbs.com/thread-691451.html

Note also that he is apparently discussing scheduling with UofM's AD.

Should have had something set up already with them but the buffoon we had previously screwed the pooch.

There is literally no AD in American I would listen to less than Swarbrick as far as realignment goes. Seriously, what other AD would tell that school anything based on their selfish track record.

Why are we stable? B/c everyone wants ND and they aren't going anywhere. That's why he's so confident.

I think he is speaking for ND. ND isn't doing anything until TV otherwise forces them too. I don't think he's speaking for all realignment possibilities.

IMO...the only way stability doesnt occur like Jack states is if the Big 12 decides to do something.

outside of that.....stability seems likely IMO

I think he was speaking in general, about the P5. He doesn't anticipate any P5 realignment until the next TV cycle in the early 2020s.

Yep, no other school in America but ND is "looking out for themselves".

That is why no other schools have changed conferences, ever.

But how much of a pulse does Swarbrick have on the P5? ND didn't move from the Big East until very late in the game. They are a prized piece, but I think are somewhat of a pawn. The ACC, B1G, and B10 all wanted and probably still do want ND. The ACC might be stable and not expanding. ND isn't looking, but I do not think B1G or the Big12 are completely dormant.

I think that Jack Swarbrick is pretty well connected and has a good read on things. That is just my opinion, though.

Well, I think Swarbrick is talking out of his a$$. That's not an opinion, but a fact!

He definitely wants stability for 10 years. I don't know if he'll get it.

Facts are supported by evidence. You are right, no facts supporting his claim, but someone talking out their a$$ sure rates as a carnival act.
