Exactly what I thought would end up happening. Navy to the west makes perfect sense considering the teams they like to play.

BTW, we'll see if the AAC continues to use divisions if and when the NCAA rules change on conference championship games.

Love this. SMU gets annual games against Navy, UH, Tulane, and Tulsa which is what we wanted. Memphis is an added bonus.

With this setup, Houston is going to play in the conference championship game frequently. Although these divisions are pretty balanced, I still think that the east will be harder for one school to consistently win.

Aresco: "The East-West format we have adopted gives each division a distinct identity, provides long-term competitive balance and protects traditional rivalries while allowing each school to travel across the conference's geographical footprint on a regular basis."

A lot of people bash the league office but in my view that got a lot things correct this time around. Basketball tournament moved to a Thursday through Sunday format allows for better TV coverage and fan travel, 2014-2015 basketball conference opponents secured mirror matchups for the conference's best games, and football divisions grouped schools together in a logical manner while allowing exceptions for institutional preference.

Sounds good to me, though things change on a dime in college football. We went from 13-1 to 5-7 just a couple years ago.

Historically, with Cincy, UCF, and ECU, there's no arguing that the East is tougher.

It's going to be tough on USF, UConn and Temple in the East...but they'll continue to improve.

In the West, Houston, Tulsa and Navy will be fighting it out while Memphis, Tulane and SMU get stronger.

Overall, I 'm pleased with the divisions - they make sense and will be competitive.

Not thrilled about having to face the triple option every year(Navy) but other than that, cool beans.

Well just from a personal standpoint I couldn't be happier with the divisions.

i think they did they best they could given the circumstances. my only complaint is that they put all the orginal BE members in one division.

Personally I was hoping, for selfish reasons, to be in a division with Houston... but these seem logical. Navy wanting to move west really helped make this easier than it might have been.

I'm not too worried about the strength disparity, program quality (for most of us) cycles up and down through the years.

All 1?

Cincy (2005), Temple (1991), and USF (2005) are not original members.

Agree with maccoog. Overall, a very good setup that should continue to grow rivalries.
