Right. I think the this represents only about 16 games of our contract. I think you will see about 10-20 more AAC home games on ESPN networks along with 15 more Saturday games on CBS-Sports Network. This list represents only about a third of the total AAC home games to be on national TV. That doesn't include away OOC games that will be televised. Also, supposedly 3 or more games will be on ABC. When we look back on the season the list of nationally televised AAC games will be quite long.

If I may, I think it would be a good idea to sticky this topic. Maybe expand upon it and update it throughout the season for regional TV games as well. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to know which games are on TV come Fall.

Exactly. This is just a drop in the bucket as far as the final total. What this does, however, is give you an idea of which games are appealing to national TV even before anyone knows which teams are having a winning season. Once a team goes on a win streak it's much more likely to be on national TV. (ESPN does the same thing with ACC games, SEC, B1G, Big12 and Pac12 games too).

BTW: I went off the AAC website, which didn't list any national games for SMU. If it's wrong, somebody needs to holler!

Maybe, but there might also be a stipulation that every team appears a certain number of times, and this list could reflect that.

Also, we are using the term "national TV" loosely here. Traditionally, I think most associated that with being broadcast not just in every state, but also on a major network. Meanings have been blurred with the rise of all these cable and satellite channels and packages, but still, there is a difference. Heck, over the air on CBS, ABC, NBC, or FOX is still better than ESPN.

Then why does ESPN get higher ratings for some games vs those on NBC (Notre Dame) and almost every week on FOX (Pac-12)?

You troll so much, you can't even think logically now.

Don't be surprised if the Memphis - UCLA game is nationally televised.

I expect there to be a lot more ESPNews telecasts when it's all said and done. Not many stand-out games left to land on ESPN or ESPN2.

Also, CBS hasn't made their picks yet to throw on CBSSN.

Hope it's not on the Pac12 Network. That thing has very limited availability outside of the PAC12 footprint.

Sorry, but I'm thinking that game's a lock for PTN. The first 2 weeks are very crowded already - not many TV slots left. At least you get a nice trip to So Cal out of it.

For future reference, Matt Sarz does a fantastic job of tracking each league's contract inventory as it is announced.

Here are the announced American contract games.

In this case, Matt Sarz is more correct than the American Conference website, which lists UCF at Houston twice (10/2 and 10/11). There may be other errors -- I have not checked. Thus, Hokie Mark's stats for UCF and Houston are skewed by at least 1 ESPN appearance.

You troll so much, you can't even think logically now.

Because those espn games would have gotten even higher ratings if they had been on NBC, and likewise the notre dame games would have gotten even lower ratings had they been on espn. That tells you the over air major networks are still better than espn.

Please don't invoke logic when your post is this silly.

Last time we were in Los Angeles (1991), we beat USC. I'm flying out there and driving back. The trip will include my first visit to the Grand Canyon.
