ASU turns it around and wins our first ever game against Troy in Jonesboro 10-7 in game two behind 5 sold innings out of our bullpen.

We go for our first ever series win over the Trojans tomorrow...trying to improve on that 9-28 season series mark.

GSU let one get away today. Had a 5-2 lead. That's unfortunate because a win would have put us in sixth place and all but wrapped up a tourney spot with ULM having to face UL next weekend.

UL beat USA 8-7

with the Cajuns up 7-0 after 6, we go to our struggling bullpen in the 7th who give up 7 runs in the bottom of the 7th for USA to tie the game

Good thing our offense in the top of the 9th bailed out the bullpen by scoring a run to get the 8-7 win.

Working on some tourney seeding scenarios

AState clinches no worse than 3rd with two wins in its last 4 games. (UTA hosts Texas State next week...someone has to lose)

Texas State clinches no worse than 3rd with Two wins in its last 4. (Tiebreak over UTA with one win next week)

UTA needs to win at least three, maybe 4 games to avoid the ULL bracket.


WKU is not officially locked into 4th/5th, but their odds of catching up to 3rd are slim to none.


Still working out battle for 8th. May wait for tomorrow to work out to see who wins the tiebreak between GSU/ULM

Cajuns sweep USA by taking game 3 by the 10 run rule 13-3.

First time in the history between Louisiana and South that the Cajuns have been able to sweep. That says a lot about South baseball at Stanky. Kind of like beating WKU in the Diddle. Not that we are that good, but geez every now and then you get a sweep even if you are evenly matched and we been playing South a long, long time.

ASU wins its second ever series against Troy with an 8-5 win today. We are now 13-0 in the final game of a series this season.

With Texas State's loss to UALR, ASU takes a 1 game lead over Texas State and UTA heading into next weekend.

Red Wolves host Ole Miss on Tuesday Night in our last shot to gain a big RPI win. Unfortunately...it looks like rain.

Big win for ULM today but it may not matter. A win by GSU likely would have sealed their spot, but they still control their own destiny.

In all likelihood, the winner of the Troy/USA series will make mobile. Only way that doesn't happen is if Troy wins 2 of 3, and ULM takes one at ULL, GSU wins two from WKU, and UALR wins three from ASU. If USA wins two games...they are in regardless results.

GSU clinches a tourney berth with Two wins and a UALR loss. If the Panthers lose two of Three, they will need two of the following to happen to advance: ULM gets swept, Troy losing 2 to USA, USA getting swept by Troy, or UALR losing Two to ASU.

UALR clinches a tourney berth with 2 wins AND Two of the following results: GSU Losing Two Games, Troy losing Two Games, USA Getting swept, or ULM getting swept.

Of those 5 teams. The Top Two will get 6-7 seeds and stay out of the Cajuns bracket. Third gets the 8 seed but plays the Cajuns first round. Bottom Two get to watch the tourney on the website.

Technically GSU needs a UALR loss OR Two ULM losses with a series win to advance...but I like your odds there. Realistically...odds are ULM is in regardless. They would need sweeps out of UALR and Troy and to be swept to not make it.
