I think FIU using Frink will hurt them. They are losing three of their top four players. Obi from Rice will be a good player for someone. Interested to see where he ends up. Obviously Canty too if he leaves Marshall.

Look at my recruiting thread and you'll see transfers that are eligible to play THIS season in CUSA.

http://csnbbs.com/thread-683349.html

Once transfers are mostly concluded, I'll create a new one for transfers that will be eligible next season.

Thanks, I had missed that thread. Looks like Charlotte has a couple of impact transfers for next year. I was starting to look at what each of the teams were returning in conference, but I was waiting until the transfer season was more settled to post the results. For now, it looks like Old Dominion is going to return almost the entire team. They have, by far, the most returning of all the teams in C-USA.

Hopefully impact transfers anyway. Sullivan didn't do much in two years at Clemson. Ogbueze didn't really get enough time to judge him, but reports from practice have been encouraging for him. He was like the 4th rated PG in the country out of HS. Hopefully he lives up to it because we have to do something about the turnovers.

Steele is eligible to play at Middle immediately. I'm pretty sure he has graduated from MSU. Has been riddled with injuries. If healthy, he will be a great pickup for us.

RE: CUSA Basketball Transfers
Marshall will release Canty after he meets the new coach. Semester doesn't end for another month anyway. He would have to sit a year and have two left. He see's what Kane did and thinks he can replicate that. We also have another kid by the name of Brantley who was sitting out wo now plans to transfer as well.

The new coach won't have much to work with. I see another last place finish next year. It will get worse before it gets better, if it ever does.

I would be shocked if those kids were not recruited directly off of your roster during the season by one of those sleazy P5 programs. I am convinced that is the reason that so many kids are transferring these days.

UTEP is only losing John Bohannon. He was a starter that averaged 11.9 points, 8.3 rebounds in 28.6 minutes this year. UTEP doesn't have any transfers in/out at this point.

Don't you lose Crosgile as well? ODU is only losing one guy who played fewer minutes last season than Bohannon and Crosgile.

Crosgile was kicked off the team in December for gambling. He didn't play in any CUSA games.

RE: CUSA Basketball Transfers
I should have remembered that. I usually just look at how much a team is returning in terms of minutes played, points scored, etc. Losing players midseason is a special case. Probably skews the numbers further down that it should, since the team has learned to play without them.

Anton Larsen is the senior in question for ODU. He averaged just 6.9 minutes per game.

I have only seen it one place, but ECU may be losing a player. I will update the listing when it becomes official.

Interesting. Wonder if he'll come play for his dad if that is who it is?

Marshall is losing Canty and Brantley. Good riddance. Cancers for sure. The new coach will have a very tough first year.

Sounds like some inside folks at ODU are saying Stith is coming here.

I've always been somewhat confident that at least one of his sons would come here.

Nice. I'm not as close to the team/info as some here so I just have to pick apart banter from here. =]

Canty has won his appeal for release. He has been released from his scholarship and will likely apply for a hardship waiver and win. He can go anywhere and is likely to not have to sit out a year. Both he and Brantley won't be here next year. They were the only point guards on the roster. On top of that, it's April 11 and we don't have a coach. It really is approaching worst case scenario.

I don't understand why he would be granted a hardship waiver.
