Now they reached the bottom last year so either have to improve or stay at the same level.
Best thing for Georgia State, their record cannot get any worse. Unless they decided to play
Hawaii and get a 13th game.

2010 GaSt was 6-5
2011 GaSt was 3-8
2012 GaSt was 1-10
2013 GaSt was 0-12

Georgia St didn't win but they didn't roll over like the year before. The game against TXST was MUCH closer then I would have ever guessed. Hes got the players adopting a better attitude and mentality. Just needs more depth and playmakers.

I believe Troy will be in the top 4 and get a bowl bid this year... It will probably be the bowl game in Montgomery, but anything is better than staying home.

Man, y'all have an easy schedule. NMSU, Idaho, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, and App. That's five games where you should be big favorites.

To get to six you'll have to win one of @USA, ULL, @ULM. Possible, especially if ULM or USA have QB change over issues.

No Arkansas State. No Texas State

OOC - @UAB (not a gimmie and they'll have something to prove - but you guys should be at least even money there), some FCS moveup (win), Duke at home (a reach but you could win), and then a game you'll probably lose (@Georgia).

Yea, barring some collapse, you guys should be bowling next year. You guys have 7 games where you'll be favored or even money, and then you have 4 plausible upsets in case you get upset somewhere in the 7 games where you'll be favored.

Not much of a season for exciting games, but that's a bowl inducing schedule if I've ever seen one. If you guys don't get to a bowl, then that's a sign of big problems.

Love all the posts where it would seem that App State is coming in as some big bug eyed
transitional team that has no idea what we are getting into. If we lose to your teams I
assure you it will not be from that.

I for one have always enjoyed keeping up with App. State... I'm looking forward to them coming to Troy this year... I expect a dog fight of a game. I'm already planning a trip to Boone, next year... Your campus and stadium look great.

Of course it does but my statement still stands. The jump from playing FCS schools to playing 7 or 8 FBS schools is not unsubstantial and you should know that better than anyone.

Id say Georgia Southern and Troy have two of the easiest schedules in the league by far. GSU misses both ASU and ULL, while Troy misses ASU and hosts ULL.

If I was honest, I think App State has the hardest schedule.

Most on here know I followed Troy State, then Troy for many
years. Pulled for them a lot. Will be one of the few times I have
to pull against them. But look forward to it. Will be good for
both schools.
Does line up for Troy to go bowling this year if they don't mess up.

Things lineup for Troy if their new QB develops, and Larry Blakeney disease doesn't pop back up again.

If I was honest, I like USA's chances a bit better than Troy at this point.

I expect a hard fought game from you guys. I expect that the problem you will face will come in the third and fourth quarters, when you will have depth problems.

Especially after playing a rivalry game on the road 5 days before the USA game.

App isn't scared of us. App is just not going to have the same size, speed, and depth.

I understand why you did. But making that prediction essentially mean you think App loses home games to Georgia State and Idaho. And I am not ready to concede that yet.

I will say this about playing at App. St. It is a hard place to play. If you play there anywhere from mid-October on you never know what weather you might get. For most of our teams used to playing in humid, hot conditions the environment in Boone can be very different.

I don't usually stick up for App St. but anyone who underestimates them at home is doing so at your own peril.

Believe me when I say --- we know firsthand how tough it is to win up there on that mountain.

While App has the hardest road conference games, the home games should be 50/50 or we are favored.

But really 4/4/14 is way toooo early to make predictions. Every program has some true freshman that could come in a make an impact and has quite a few red shirts from last year, I know we do.

Going into our games you guys aren't going to have the same feeling you did when you played GA St. last year.

I think a big advantage App has is that GS is their first league opponent. They start out league play with a team they know well, and have beaten the last several years. If App wins in Statesboro, it will give them a ton of confidence, and they would have an extra 2 days to prepare for a USA game in which you know App's fans will be fired up for their first ever FBS Opponent at home.

Not to mention USA might be a bit road weary after having played at Idaho the week before.
