Hell with that. Which school is going to own to most annoying poster when SJ is finally forced to play on the AAC board?

Stupid thread to start. It had to be made to get a negative response.

No one gives a **** about ECWho. Enjoy going 12-22 each year in basketball and playing for the 4th or 5th bowl spot in football. Just like you did in CUSA 1.0.

I hope ECWho fails in any and everything they try and do. You and the band of ECWho nitwits which includes SJ, R2, BF and others have made me hate ECWho and Greenville.

It's cool, most posters over here are pretty decent people and I have enjoyed the banter and insight. Unfortunately, a small handful just take this stuff way too seriously so they allow their frustration to manifest itself in a disgusting display of personal attacks. Life's too short to react that way & occasionally people need to remember that there is more to life than a message board. Sometime's people need to just to go outside and ride a bike or play tennis or maybe hangout with their loved ones.

It's one thing to be cleaver and to get under people's skin a little (that's part of what makes these boards fun and entertaining) but when people actually get angry it baffles me. Just think about how someone who had never been exposed to this board would look at the above private message response to my original question.

On this board you really have to be detail oriented with your posts or you can unintentionally make people go into a rage or a hissy fit. Sometimes I like to engage in a little good-natured ribbing but I really wasn't trying to with this thread. I was just curious about something and I wanted others opinions, so I created a new thread about it. It's not like it's a news flash that ECU has great fan support it's just simply a commonly accepted fact. My thread wasn't even about that, it just peripherally mentions it in the title in order to accurately frame the question. I just don't see why I should have to walk on eggshells just because some are so butthurt.

It's kind of strange that the most easily irritated posters are primarily Marshall fans (and USM to a lesser degree) because those are the 2 schools that I thought we had the closest ties to prior to our announcement that we were moving on. Maybe they can't let it go but I actually respect both of their programs and wish them the best.

Maybe, I shouldn't even wish them the best because I'll probably get ripped a new one because, "We don't want your F'ing pitty ECWho fan, get the F out of here, etc."

UTEP more than likely will be the leader in football and basketball attendance in this conference but winning "attendance trophies" means nothing when your football team stays home in December and your basketball team has to settle for the CBI.

I will admit that at times I get frustrated with certain posters. Usually as a result of a continual trend.

...and there's nothing wrong with that, mistabinks. Giving credit where/when due is a good trait.

Deep down, everyone knows that when UTEP is successful, 40K and 10K are the numbers that the Miners draw. Just because Miner fans choose to be less vocal and more reserved, doesn't change the impact of UTEP's presence in the conference. You guys and our good friends in Hattiesburg are the foundation/anchors of the conference. You don't have to be vocal about it, it's pretty obvious to those that have been around.

They'll definitely have the best fan support in their up years. Maybe UTSA can challenge them for it. If you see UTEP having an 8+ win year you know 40k is easily doable in fb.

Not so sure about football, dude. This past year, we averaged 29,214 at home to your 28,375. Some will claim that the Oklahoma State game skews our data. Well if we take our Oklahoma State game out, and you take your Oklahoma game out, we still come out on top 26,861 to your 26,742.

We've never drawn well for basketball, even when we had some decent teams. But I think it's fair to say we're about even for football.

Y'all had a bowl season (your FIRST bowl season) and we had a horrible season. Yet you outdrew us by only 900 fans a game.

Our most recent struggles on the field (we've had many periods of struggling) led to the decline in attendance. Here is a snapshot of our fb attendance with corresponding record in the 21st century so far. Oh, and the 4 bowls were all losses but we took very good crowds to Houston vs Colorado and to New Mexico vs BYU. The other 2 we traveled light.

2000 44,715 (8-4)bowl
2001 28,360 (2-9)
2002 28,310 (2-10)
2003 20,009 (2-11) coach Nord fired
2004 41,209 (8-4) bowl, Price’s 1st yr
2005 47,899 (8-4) bowl
2006 42,444 (5-7)
2007 36,568 (4-8)
2008 37,296 (5-7)
2009 29,010 (4-8)
2010 29,349 (6-6) bowl
2011 26,498 (5-7)
2012 29,374 (3-9)Price retired
2013 28,375 (2-10) 1st year for Kugler

I'm going to guess Fitbutt. Right?

I voted yes but it's not going to be automatic. UTEP FB has to do better on the field to be number 1 in attendance. Otherwise UTSA or USM or Marshall would be ahead of us in their good years. Basketball, UTEP should stay in the lead because I always expect we are at least going to have a winning team. Next year "should" be a very good year in Miner basketball. Of course, I expected they would be this year and it was close.
