Yeah, I believe it. Question is, do THEY believe it and can they actually commit to it? Honestly, I love my Tigers but sometimes it's like they think they can just fax in an appearance. To cut down the nets will require commitment and intensity of purpose that they have only shown sporadically in flashes this season.

It doesn't matter if I believe it's does the team believe they are good enough.

Agreed. This is about mindset. Based on season's results I don't see it, the intensity and necessary toughness doesn't seem to be there. But based on talent, yes.

They check out too much to stay focused and intense for 6 games. 5 - 10 minutes of strong play each half won't cut it. I do believe they have the talent though.

What would you expect a totally positive person to say? We don't stand a chance? The only time we won six games in a row began with Nichols State and ended with Arkansas Little Rock? These guys haven't beaten two good teams in a row all year? No, that's not gonna happen with any coach, particularly not someone who doesn't believe in saying much of anything negative. I wouldn't put much stock in it, though. I don't really think he does. It's just what you say at times like this -- you know, like, "Memphis is where I wanna be."

I know they have the talent to beat anyone, but I don't think they have the mental toughness to get through a sub-par shooting night. Only a handful in this field could imo.

One thing we might look for though is the fact we ended the season with a thud. I have seen teams go into hyper-focus after that and go on a run. Who knows.

I'd like to believe we could win 2 but I don't.

I think we have enough basketball playing ability to defeat 6 teams in the tourney. I think there are a number of teams where we would have to be playing our "A" game and they would have to be playing at "B" level for us to beat them. There are probably a handful where our "A" game wouldn't beat their "B" game.

If CC were to go off for say, 6 of 8, and GJ, JJ, and MD all shot 40% from 3, 8 of 20 total, and the inside opened up where we could score a lot, then we could likely beat most anybody. (That seems to be the "hoped for" game scenario from the beginning of the year and what we've tried to do often.) Of course, that kind of shooting only happens in spurts, and not all in the same game.

This is the whole problem. Most people on this board have no idea that many other teams have great players. Two rounds of the upcoming NBA draft will come and go without any Tigers names being called, yet somehow we have the talent to win the championship? It does not make sense.

What we have is a solid team of 4 year players that can be the foundation to a championship caliber team. But you have to add in a couple of NBA talents to the roster to get there, and we don't have that on this team. That is the next step for this program, attracting this caliber of player to play here.

No. That's completely ridiculous and completely illogical to even consider. Based on a full season of performance, I'd say it's borderline, and probably statistically, impossible. It would be a miracle. Weren't we just having this conversation about winning 3 straight games in our own building ?

Technically it's possible since we'll be in the tournament but based on what the team did this season I don't know what would make anyone think it's remotely likely.

Don't mention Gordon Heyward dude has been a bust so far in the nba. Talent is talent whether it's nba caliber or not. There are other factors that go into play when it comes to the NBA. For example, size, can they shoot, can they defend their position, what position, etc..

The whole you need NBA players is just something people put out there
