Antonio Barton
Anyone else think we could have really used him this season? Could have used another shooter.

RE: Antonio Barton
No, we already have too many short guards. He would not really help us all that much this season, imo.

If Barton would have stayed we wouldn't have gotten Dixon. Dixon averages more points, more assists, more steals and shoots better from the 3pt line and FT line than Barton in less minutes.

We've got the 6th man of the year in our conference on our team - I think we're fine.

RE: Antonio Barton
AB just committed a flagrant foul which may have cost UT the game. After that, he flopped big time trying to draw a flagrant foul against the UF player.

I initially thought so as well. But on the straight ahead replay view, it looks like Bartons nose flexed just a bit. Then Scotty just confirmed that he nicked him. It doesn't take much on the end of the nose to bring tears to your eyes.

He wanted minutes. He knew the only way to get them was to drop a few levels.

It was a flop. He might have slightly nicked him but his elbow was nowhere near his head when Barton jerked his head back like he had been punched. Barton was smiling about it.

No. Dixon is better than Barton.

RE: Antonio Barton
I wondered the same thing as the original poster; in fact, I would expand that to Barton and Black. Would the Tigers have been better, worse, or about the same this season with those two? Hard to say for me. We could've used more interior beef, even if TB's skills inside are limited. As for AB, he certainly had some crazy good games at UM. But would he have been good enough to have made a difference with this team?

As for the "flop," I think it was. He may have been nicked, but not enough to warrant the reaction he gave. And, I think his reaction to Wilbekin said it all. But a heady basketball play, because it worked.

if you are looking for interior beef with TB, you wouldn't have found it. TB is as foul prone this year as he was last year.

as for the flop, more face time so his little girl can see her daddy on TV

I do my best, but 30 years ago they were a lot better.

As for Barton, it was a flop. Was it a heady play? I guess. But it's like the hidden ball trick in baseball, yes, it's legal, but it's also kind of bush league.

Agreed on the second point, and I'll take your word on the first.

On the one hand, I could see it hurting like hell for someone to get you across the bridge of the nose with the point of their elbow, which is what it kinda looked like happened.

On the other hand, Barton had a big old **** eating grin on his face after the play. So...
