So Pastner's recruiting is overrated?
I think it's misguided. Don't think he's figured out the right kind of player he needs to succeed at the highest level.

Wow: We need more fans like you. Am I happy with the way we played or were coached tonight. No. But to say you want go to to another game or renew your tickets is like a 3rd. grader taking his ball home with him because he lost . I go to the game to support the players not the coach. I hope you wake up tomorrow and realize how dumb it would be to not renew your tickets.

You are one of our best posters and I hear ya. I just think the problem is schemes and motivation. Josh is just not the guy to lead this team.

I expect a lot of the east Memphis season ticket holder base to follow that lead as well.

I love fair weather fans.

Josh needs 5 star recruits coached by legendary HS coaches like Morgan Wooten or Bob Hurley. Guys that come in ready to play and need no motivation. Guys who know the game and are well-versed in the fundamentals. Guys who, by and large, can coach themselves.

People invest thousands in donations and tickets....They expect some sort of return for their investment. This is one of best programs in the country. Even in his "best" year yet, Pastner's team loses too many winnable games. There's no reason to lose to an underdog by 20 points on your own court.

Nah. They don't have to be "5"stars. Many people get hung up on those numbers.

What other Memphis coach's have won national titles at Memphis?

What other Memphis coach's have been to the NCAA tourney 4 times in their first 5 years?

I don't know about hall of fame, but we do not have a coaching issue at this point.

pastner has been preparing for a head coaching job since he was a kid. i would hope he would have had some clue as to which types of players he would need to execute his style of play.

pastner has been the only constant over these past 5 years. or are we going to lay the blame at the feet of a new batch of players year after year? it's not all on pastner, but the bulk of it should be on him. he's had some of these guys 4 years. 4 years to figure out how to get these guys to click. he's not done it. that's part of coaching. hell, it's part of any type of leadership position. know your personnel, and do your best to put them in a position to get the most out of them.

I expect this kind of thing ... you don't know me. You don't know the level of investment I've made in the university and the program over my entire lifetime, so I would normally be confused how someone could make such a statement. I can assure you I'm not a "fair weather" fan.

Josh Pastner needs to drop his typical defensive posture after bad losses and simply apologize for this mess

You just keep on thinking that. I admire your thoughts but we have a massive coaching problem and it's the entire staff. They are out of their league and overmatched and this university can't afford that.

Josh has identified the problem - "It's gonna be hard to win when our senior guards combine for 10-for-38 (from the field)."

That's the kind of thought process that means we have a major league coaching problem. Plan A doesn't work so let's go with........plan A. The guy is clueless.

Pastner = Future HOF Coach a Certainty?
I'm sorry I like Josh but he can't coach.. He ran 1 offensive set the whole night The high pick and roll 30 ft from the basket and the UCONN guards knew what was coming every time and they just laid back and let there man come by and then pick him up..Geez that's hard to defend.. Did ya'll also know that Josh is the defensive Coach for the Tigers?? Yes, yes he is.. What Defense, we guard guys tight 35ft from the basket and they just blow by us everytime.. You would think after doing this over and over he could come up with something different..Josh does not put his players in the best possible offense or defense for them to excel.. Sorry for the rant but I really don't expect much anymore from Josh or his staff..
