It would have been much better for us for Loserville to win the coin flip. People who would rather play Cincy are crazy.

How the heck can the Tigers beat Louisville twice and lose to UConn twice. Just noticed that Louisville beat UConn 81-48. Wow. That's a head scratcher. Was UConn looking ahead to their AAC tournament game against Memphis?

Completely agree!

Louisville has the easiest road. I don't know who Cincy plays in their first game, but I'm hoping for an upset! Won't happen though.

Either way, Memphis CAN beat them, but they gotta play defense and play tough. We ran into a buzzsaw Thursday. I figure the game in the tourney vs them would go more like our game against SMU today.

Senior day buzzsaw!

Will UConn be dejected or play tough Thursday?

This tournament is gonna be insane. Memphis/UConn has the toughest road for sure. I'm glad it's on our home floor.

RE: Coin flip after the Louisville game
Just realized if Tigers had beaten UConn OR Houston, we would be the 3 seed outright, and would play Louisville in semis instead of Cincy.

Coulda, shoulda, woulda. Oh well... lace em up and play!

All I can say is if we play them we better play Zone because we will not beat them playing man to man Defense.. UCONN beat them playing Zone and a box in 1..

Indeed. Bracket for the Tigers is brutal. But if they come out the other end in good shape, the NCAA seeding should be pretty good. How many teams will have played 6 top-25 ranked teams in a row to close out the season. (This is assuming Memphis gets to the fianls.)

How many teams did we beat 3 times/season in C-USA from 2006 on? Pretty much every team we played 3 times

I believe the statement was...it's tough to beat a good team three times.

Oh and just to cover all the bases..the statement was also it's tough...not impossible.

So, to recap...it's tough to beat a good team 3 times in one season.

Is that more clear?

Sorry , could you repeat that again.

Well if we turn the ball over like we did we won't beat them. If we didn't turn it over as much it would've been a wire game.

But I agree about the defense the problem with the box and 1 the bigs have got to guard the drives

We have to play mostly Zone.. The game the other night Cinci had 31 layups or dunks.. We can't guard them straight up man to man.. It has been proven twice already.. Just like UCONN did against them you have make them shoot outside..If we do get by UCONN I will be interested to see what we do..

Gottleib had Memphis 3rd and was killed for that.

If we had played zone the other night I don't think it would've helped much. They would've still driven to the hole because our defensive movement wasn't crisp at all. What are you going to do if we play zone and they kill us on the offensive glass? What will everyone say then

Yeah since that conference was really made up of tons of Louisville's and Cincinnati's?
Duke doesn't sweep UNC three times often.
Geoergetown rarely beat Syracuse three times in a season. It's incredibly hard to beat a team three times in these leagues.

They won't beat us on our home floor again. Nick Van Exel isn't walking through that door. This team wants and deserves another shot at the Bearcats.

Yeah, there's no way we could lose to Cincinnati four times in one season. Especially not with Hardaway on our team.
Oh wait! Nevermind.

Your probably right about the other night but you have to do something different..UCONN doesn't play zone often but they realized that was there only chance and it worked.. Louisville beat Cinci playing man to man but they pressed over half the game and caused 19 to's and still had to hit a shot at the buzzer to win..

I agree, but my biggest worry is rebounding if we play mostly zone.

With that said it means nothing if we don't win Thursday
