That is a much more important point of emphasis...Making/Missing 3's gives the guys an excuse for losing.

He did say that in his post game radio interview. He said the 3 was an equalizer and defence wins games.

He did talk about defending against threes. I think that is why our guards get burned so much with the new rules. Pastner does not ever want to give up a three. His defensive philosophy does not seem to hedge and allow spacing in order to keep your man in front of you on the perimeter.

True but to say we won because we made 3's and they didn't is not what you want your team to hang their hat on...Say we played great defense and didn't allow them to make shots or something similar...Don't say we were lucky that their shot rimmed out. Guys learn nothing from that statement...

Sorry you missed the part about him praising the defense down the stretch which gave us a chance to win, holding an elite team under 40% from the field and shut them down behind the three. Compared to Houston where he said we didn't play D and we lost.

The 3 is a huge part of the game. In spite of the UConn Game, you mostly win if you hit threes at a high % and you mostly lose when you don't.

The man has said a million times that defense is what drives this teams success.

I really don't get you guys. Sweeping Louisville, getting a top ten win, recovering from a bad lose on the road and you complain about something you totally misrepresent what he is saying. You lead a sad, sad life.

I doubt very seriously that he says anything like this to our players during practice. Pastner says stuff like this to the press on purpose, all the time. He is a master baiter and the media swallow it hook-line-and-sinker.

Dang, he talks about defense throughout, and before talking about making 3s he said he told the guys in the huddle we have to get stops.

After a top 10 win Coach Pastner can say whatever he wants, wgas? You know what he is going to say so why get all bitter about it after every game? Why don't y'all jump aboard the Josh Pastner train and ignore the things you don't like about him for a while.
