The guy was still moving; it was a defensive foul.

RE: Syracuse Screwed....
Here's my perspective of it. It looked more like a charge to me than a block, so I don't necessarily disagree with the ref just looking at that single play alone. Yes, it was very close and could have gone either way, but to me it looked more like a charge on the replay. The ref should have understood it was a close call and went easy on the coach before T'ing him up though. So I disagree with throwing him out. That was totally not necessary. But what really caught my eye looking at the replay was how the Syracuse player appeared to be on the baseline, foot on the line, when he caught the pass to begin with, before driving in. Look at it again and you will see. So forget charge, Syracuse got a break in that no-call before the sequence even began.

I didn't watch any other part of the game, just the coach going bananas part. lol But if like people were indicating, charging calls weren't being made on the other end of the court, it is an issue of consistency and if I was a Syracuse fan, I can see myself being pissed too.

But then again, let's rewind back to the first Syracuse-Duke game earlier this season.. we can all agree that missed Duke dunk was clearly a Syracuse foul and that game was gift-wrapped and given to Syracuse by the refs. So I don't see what Syracuse fans are complaining about. They should have lost BOTH games. Just be happy to have stolen a win from Duke. lol

Just as a side note, I'm not a fan of either team, and definitely not a Duke fan. This is just my observation and opinion of the situation.

RE: Syracuse Screwed....
Boeheim knew what he was doing...he left the coaches' box, got in the ref's face saying BS call repeatedly, T#1. He didn't slow down or stop, T#2. He wanted to make a statement, didn't disagree with it in the post game press conference.

If he had not been tossed, other coaches would be doing that with the logic, if Boeheim can get away with it, why can't I?

One call doesn't win or lose a game. It's just the one folks remember. If it was an incorrect call, it wasn't the first one in the game. All missed calls are equal. Someone gains an unfair advantage. Nothing more, nothing less.

RE: Syracuse Screwed....
Syracuse has been flirting with a losing streak for two weeks. Glad somebody got to them even if it was Duke(following BC). Refs are inconsistent. It's just more scrutinized now that every play is shown from multiple angles. I imagine some the older sports fans out there saw some really poor officiating 40 plus years ago.

Edit to say biased officiating rather. Hence "home cooking", I guess.

If Calipari were coaching Syracuse, they never would have lost @ Duke.

Boeheim and Pastner don't work the refs!!!

Boeheim is such an a$$. Call was very close. 10 seconds to go and you basically forfeited by acting like a 3 year old.

It's ok, Boeheim knows that by acting a fool in this one game will ensure that he will benefit from the refs judgment calls the rest of the year.

I can't stand Boeheim after the way he acted during the Bernie Fine investigation. He acted so pompous and arrogant about an investigation that children were sexually abused. He got a free pass from ESPN because they love him. He should have been given the Paterno treatment.

Yep, Boeheim will never win a NC with that kind of stuff.

No doubt. He will never make the HOF or obtain a gold medal, either.

Well said and fairly presented.

Somehow, I don think those obsessed with hating Duke will admit to Duke getting screwed in the first Syracuse game.

So what if Syracuse got jobbed on a bad call at Duke? That's like being upset because Donald Trump lost a million dollars.

Syracuse just got unscrewed at Maryland. UMD guy goes in for layup with 5 seconds left, one point down, to probably win game, and gets body tackled. No call. MD forced to foul. 'Cuse hits one, and wins 57-55.

Not to mention Duke getting screwed in the first Syracuse game.

Heaven forbid.

My sentiments exactly! Not to mention the way he disrespected Andy Katz during a press conference on the issue. I've lost all respect for Boeheim.

Boeheim's tirade is already paying dividends.

27--6 free throw discrepancy in Maryland's favor. But some say Syracuse wasn't attacking the rim.

The only way I can think of to keep refs from deciding the games is to.....
