Some serious questions about our injuries
Both Will and James suffered sprained ankles and then came right back and played in, at least, 2 games. Subsequently it was determined that they were too injured to play. Did they come back to quickly? Apparently so. Who makes those decisions? Why were they made? I realize these decisions are hard to make, and it is not an exact science. Still it is concerning that decisions were made that were not in the best interest of the players or the long term interest of the team. I guess, at the point, I'm just frustrated with not having some of our best players available for key conference games.

RE: Some serious questions about our injuries
I think in some of those situations, the doctor determines there is no likelihood of further injury, so the player is cleared to play. But after he gets in the game for a little while, the coach can see that his movements are hampered enough that he cannot be effective. There is a medical decision, and then there is an on-court decision.

Some serious questions about our injuries
If you cant be second you are just playing to be in the tournament, so rest them.

We could have just set them out for the road games.

But wouldn't a higher seed be better? I'm no tournament guru, but usually the higher the seed, the better chance you have of winning, don't you?
Plus there is a psychological element to winning. More you win, more you win. More you lose, generally the more you lose. Whether it's by 1 point or 30 points. But hey. If resting our main players for the tournament gets us in, I guess that's the main thing. However, we might not even make the tournament if we follow that path. I remember Stan Heath not playing up tempo against a slower Bucknell team because he wanted to rest his team for the next game. Guess what. The next game wasn't until next season!04-cheers

We are in the tourney if we lose out. This year 1 and 2 get the double bye, 3 and 4 get a single bye. Byes have never helped us. I'd just as well get a "warm up" win before we play (likely) ULL or ASU. If we can't beat the 7th or 8th place team in the Belt, in the first round, it's all irrelevant anyway.
