Looking for a bar to watch the game
I'm looking for a bar downtown or midtown to watch the game tonight. I usually watch our games at a buddy's place, but he's out of town. So I'm looking for a nice bar I can take in the game with fellow Tigers fans. Any suggestions?

Is Max's still open? The place that used to be called Calhoun's? I heard a big Tiger fan used to run that place.

Living in rural West TN, I am so envious of this thread. There's a few places in Jackson but we're hard up for a place around here. So many good options on this thread. The best place in rural West TN to watch the game is Olegus' man cave.

you're the lucky one.
Bonfire, country girls, cold beer, crank up the old country music. Doesn't mean much for a Tiger game, but it sure sounds a lot better than a night out in a city.

LOL. Great post.
Bonfire? I still live in the City. Believe it or not, my town of 4,000 would frown on that. Country Girls? Happily married to one. Old Country Music? Yeah, I'm game. I noticed you said, "old" Country music. Right on.
But, I still miss Huey's, Corky's, Chinese Sub Shop, Silky's, Half Shell, Blue Monkey, Gills (I hate that place closed) and Newby's! Best restaurants per capita in the whole world.
Sure, this is a "grass is greener" post, but you have to remember, I know all the die-hard tiger fans in town. There's about 5 of them. This is Vol Country....

Good stuff Radford
I love the Half Shell when I come back to visit.
I have not seen 2 bars mentioned in this thread that are near my downtown hotel I always stay at - Bardog, Brass Door (more of a weird soccer bar, but still)

I can't figure if that place is closed down or not. I drove by on a Sat. night within the last couple of weeks around 8:30pm and it was closed. That says to me: closed for business. But just to make sure before I posted a response to you here, I went to Urban spoon, and sure enough, there is a review from some guy on Feb 8th 2014. Course, he said everything was "cold", so maybe it was a prank?
