CUSA basketball coaches on hot seat...
Who all do you guys think are in danger of being axed.
Ill start the list with Marshall's Tom Herrion. I don't see how he survives this season.

Major has lost most of the Charlotte fanbase, but he just got an extension, so he's definitely not on the hot seat.
If he fails next year, he'll definitely be on the hot seat though.

I think Lebo should get a pass this year in all fairness to him. A lot went wrong this year to put ECU in the position it's in. If the team doesn't improve next year though, I'd say he's for sure in trouble.

Lebo has done fine at ECU...it's an almost impossible job, Like Memphis football.

Will Lebo survive if they go winless in conference?

IMO you are wrong, because before Lebo arrived ECU the ECU administration didn't even put money into their basketball program. This year was going to be a lost cause anyway after seeing Sampson (one of CUSA's leading rebounders), Armstrong (one of CUSA's leading field goal percentage leaders), Kolo, Guilmette and Straughn leave or get injured. Think about that for a moment: Sampson, Armstrong and Straughn were ECU's starting power forward, center and small forward. Guilmette was the back up center.
What would USM look like if your starting small forward, power forward, center and back up center either left the team or were lost to injury during the same off season?

Agree 100% with this post. Lebo isn't going anywhere anytime soon. This season has been an absolute disaster for all the reasons you've noted.

Mike Jarvis' seat has to be fairly warm at this point. He's only had 1 winning season at FAU and he wasn't hired by our current AD. I believe he has 1 year left on his deal after this season, so a change could be coming if the Owls don't finish the year strong.

I want to say we'll get rid of Herrion this year, but I don't think the athletic department will pump more money into buying Herrion out for another hire. Unfortunately, I bet he stays until the end of next season.

Lebo and Major get at least one more year.
Herrion's seat has to be on fire.

I agree....but you guys have the resources....was the point of getting lucky with our last two hires.
One thing I will give SMU credit for.....Larry Brown and June Jones....have they both worked out....much better than their predecessors.
I'm not saying to go for the "sure fire" hire....but if you get lucky enough to find one, keeping him seems like a pretty good idea. ....just like firing one that appears to have exceeded their welcome....
Maybe Lebo was part of the problem with recruiting the wrong players????
At some point, doesn't performance have to be looked at in macro terms?

I understand their inclination to hold him to the end of his contract. Unfortunately, by not extending him, he becomes a lame duck and that adversely affects recruiting. The net result usually compounds the damage.

Lebo will survive because he's a good coach who has nothing to work with this year. He'll survive because he's assembled possibly the best recruiting class in the history of the program coming in next year. (Between new recruits and transfers becoming eligible.)
Lebo will likely be up for an extension in a few years. I think the only way he leaves is for a better job.

that makes sense coupled with another level of competition you guys now face....

Lebo will stay because ECU fans are happy. That is the bottom line.
