Top White House Adviser Dan Pfeiffer Blames Bush For Obama’s Craptastic Economy…
[Image: wnlh.png]

It’s now blatantly obvious they will be blaming Bush until the very last day of Obama’s woeful presidency.

White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer returned to a familiar Democratic talking point on Fox News Sunday, blaming the financial crisis “this president inherited” for the laundry list of Obama economic woes pointed out by host Chris Wallace.

After showing a graphic revealing median household income had decreased, poverty rate was up and the labor force participation rate was at a 36-year low during the Obama presidency, Pfeiffer implicitly blamed the Bush administration.

“I think it’s important to remember this president inherited the worst economic situation since the Great Depression,” Pfeiffer said. “A financial crisis.”

Wallace cut him off, saying that was more than four years ago, before Pfeiffer rattled off a list of Obama achievements.

“But you talk about restoring opportunity,” Wallace said. “Median household income is down. Labor force participation is down. Food stamps are up. Poverty rate is up. If things are so great, how come they’re so lousy?”

I heard the interview on sirius while out doing stuff. Poor bedeviled Mr. Pfeiffer got his dumb*** handed to him. Got to the point where you almost, almost began to feel sorry for him. Not really though.

Two points:

First, when half of this nation doesn’t find it lame that the administration
continues to blame Bush, then there is no incentive to stop blaming Bush.

Second, when half of this nation ignores the fact that Obama was to fix
the inherited mess, then there is no incentive to fix the inherited mess.

You mean it still isn't common knowledge that the economy tanked under Bush?

I think they would be more accurate if they blamed wool pricing trends in 14th century France. Isn't that the root of all of the world's economic problems?

Just like it is common knowledge that the economy tanked under Clinton.

Another aspect of the economy's recovery is addressed in a paper by the Cleveland Fed (http://www.clevelandfed.org/research/wor...wp1214.pdf )
that shows that most recoveries after financial crises have been stronger than average. But the current is weaker. This could be explained by missteps taken by a neophyte WH in the early days, that exacerbated, rather than relieved, the recovery.
