I really expected to lose this game, UL never gave up even when down big! Going be hard to beat UL again I'm sure. Great game to UL and made for a good ESPN showing with the announcers knowing how to promote both schools

Great win by WKU...We have played well in the Cajun DOme over the years and today was no different..Even almost saw both coaches fight...Must have gotten it over quick though as they were joking at the end of the game and talking for awhile..

could have been a different finish if the stupid ref didn't give Western Kentucky a time out during a turnover when the Cajuns are on a run and the crowd is loud.

the Cajuns and the Hilltoppers use to be the biggest rivalry in the Sun Belt for years. The Cajuns had a rich tradition in basketball for years. There were some close exciting games against USA also.

HUGE win!! HUGE!! Already looking forward to March 6th in Diddle Arena.Should be another great game!

YOu guys average 83 pts a game which is good for 17th nationally in the nation.....Also you have 2 legit future NBA players....I would be more concerned getting your guys to play defense than complaining your team is not fun to watch or "offensive minded"...YOu guys realize we play again early March in Diddle and possible match up in SB tournament right?...The season does not end in the end of Jan.....And also GA. St. has not won the conf. either in Jan as much as their 4 fans think they have it locked up....\

And the 1 Cajun fan saying the timeout cost the game did not pay attention last 4 min of the game...YOu guys mad comeback took a lot out of you guys and you looked tired toward the end..We got some much needed energy from Harris who did not play much until late and Price who also sat a lot due to foul trouble...We were the fresher team to end the game..

He has said time and again he only cares about football, so the answer to the first part of your post is clear.

I didn't realize we were averaging those numbers. Like I've said, I'm not much of a basketball fan. I'm surprised to hear we have potential NBA players. Again congrats and good luck WKU.

The timeout call was called late but it wasn't a bad call the ref was just late blowing the whistle. Harper was standing with in a few feet of the ref on the baseline and when he saw the trap...turned to call timeout. The ref was watching the action but he heard Harper say...TIMEOUT. The ref then looked at Harper, before blowing his Whistle...now the ball is in the air. But he granted the timeout because it was called before the pass...

What us fans saw was a pass in the air then we head the whistle...I would have been pissed also if it was against Western. But it was still the right call

Exactly. Why did the WKU poster bring up GSU in this post? It didn't involve GSU. I haven't double checked but I don't even think a GSU fan commented in this thread. Yet, the WKU poster felt the need to open his mouth about some B.S. notion that all four GSU fans think we've won the conference in January. Show me one post where that was even insinuated. Actually, please don't. This thread had nothing to do with GSU till ol' boy made his comment - and it really should be kept like that. So that's what I mean. He's butt hurt.

Let me start by saying congrats to WKU, for a hard fought win, your big man treated us like children. Now, while the refs did no favors for us during the entire game( nice way of saying poorly officiated game IMO) our man defense was horrible, and if not for the press we would have been blow out. somehow wku figured out how to not turn it over in the last 2 min or so, after giving it away the whole 2nd half.

Now to address the offense- even with our 17th ranking and stats, that offence is pretty weak. Everyone trying to create shots on their own, using their athleticism to get to rim. Spacing is bad, screens are bad, passing is bad, shot selection is bad. We are where we are on the talent of 2 potential pro players talent. we still have a ways to go.

But the best part about basketball is the season is long and its all about how you finish. Come late February, March is when things become serious! Game was fun to watch on tv and the announcers spoke well of the conference and several of its teams.

He doesn't know much about anything, so please excuse him. WKU was the better team, clearly deeper in talent at this point. Too physical inside for the Cajuns beyond Long and Davenport to match up. Right now GSU and WKU are the two best teams I've seen this season, including television games.
