Conservatives all around the country should take the Governor's words to heart and spend their tourist dollars anywhere but New York.

How bad would it be to have a 100 year old owned family Upstate NY property and this prick comes in telling you to leave?

I'd be meeting with neighbors and friends to derive a game plan... but certainly not leaving.

Maybe someday we will learn that, but I doubt it. Europe didn't learn and we can't learn from Europe. We have several new California's forming around the country.

NY is an overpriced place to live.

I lived there for a short time working.. My favorite thing about NY'ers is they piss and moan about wanting stuff done, and when you tell them to do it themselves, it's not their job.

hick = derogatory term meaning backwoods, backwards, redneck, uncultured, uneducated. Generally used in reference to people from rural areas. Similar to hillbilly.

We used to call them grits, though I haven't heard that in awhile either. Now it is more redneck. Hillbillies are more West Virginia/Appalachia (hills), but the term "mountain monkey" is better.

First of all, the time for meetings and strategy-sessions was 30-40 years ago.

Second, it's not really a matter of upstate families selling their land and fleeing, en masse, to Virginia or the Carolinas or wherever. It's a matter of the conservative members of the younger generation moving away to go to college or work and then not coming back, or a matter of ambitious, entrepreneurial-type of people who once (1860s-1960s) would have poured into NY, now choosing to pour into Texas or Florida instead.

So, where's the national outrage and calls for his resignation? A conservative said something similar the screams would be deafening.

Close part of a bridge for a few days and it's a national outrage. Endorse political discrimination of entire groups of people based on their THOUGHTS? He's probably had his cocktail and little crust-less sandwich calendar filled overnight.

Just last night I was kicking around the idea of another trip to NY over Spring Break for my kids. May rethink that.

I'd rather be a hick, redneck, hillbilly, etc. than be whatever RobertN is.

99% of the drama with Christie and the GWB is rooted in the fact that liberals fear him as a potential threat in 2016. Take that out of the equation and it's a one-day story, or less. Whereas Cuomo is viewed as somebody who will never be nominated for president, anyway.

Secondly, Cuomo's declaration that conservatives are unwelcome people coincides with a corollary idea already held by many conservatives. Namely, that New York is an unwelcome place. So in a sense, Cuomo's decree is a "win-win", and the element of conflict that helps feed a media news-cycle is absent.

I agree with him (tongue in cheek kinda). Not sure why any conservative would want to live there honestly. let him alienate a large portion of his tax base, the folks with skin in the game like small business owners and corps in NYC. Other parts of the country would welcome them with open arms.
