Gunman holds people in store at gunpoint....customer shoots him dead....
Once again a law abiding citizen packing a weapon saves lives......A hero for sure....Thank goodness he had his weapon to take down the thug.

Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman Jr. said Thursday the gunman walked into the store waving a gun in the air and forced a cashier and customer at gunpoint towards a break room. At that point, the customer pulled out a concealed weapon and shot the suspect once in the chest.

"He escorted a customer who was trying to leave the store and a cashier toward a break room. The cashier went in first and the customer went in behind her, and the individual had the gun on the customer and the customer had a pistol concealed in a holster," Huffman said. "And when the customer got to the door, he turned around and shot the individual."

Mack, why aren't you in here commenting on SYG, duty to retreat. You know, those foolish ideas of yours.

He may well have saved lives. He might not be a "law abiding" citizen though. Notice the end of the article.

"Jackson confirmed that Marlo Ellis, the customer who used deadly force, is facing charges of rape in the second degree and enticing a child for immoral purposes, stemming from a 2013 investigation involving a girl under the age of 16. Court documents state that Ellis picked the victim up at a school basketball game and drove her to his house where they had sex. The district attorney said Ellis' sex case is on the trial docket for February. He has been out of jail on bond."

If he is convicted he will lose his right to carry a concealed weapon and hopefully his freedom for a while.

How is he not law abiding if he has not been to trial and judged. Is he not innocent until proven guilty? Or, tell me how that works for you gray-area liberals. You know just like how gray-area liberals allow Zero to proclaim you a terrorist and then kill you.

Sum you really need to sharpen up those reading comprehension skills. I said, "might" and even bolded the type and then I said, "if he is convicted". I'm glad he did what he did at the Dollar General. He probably saved lives. But if he did what he is accused of doing, having sex with a 14 or 15 year old girl I hope he goes to prison for a long, long time. Thirty something year old men that do that are sexual predators. Wouldn't you agree?

As a word of advice to the board: avoid Dollar General stores in Alabama. This wasn't even the first armed robbery attempt at one this year:

The ones in my hometown of Mobile got hit pretty hard in 2013. Note some of the stories make mention of a sign on the premises at the Orrville store prohibiting weapons.

I love Dollar General, you don't have to get dressed up like you do to the Wal Mart, and the prices are great! We've got two in town and I don't think either has been robbed since they opened several years ago. I do know two people that robbed the one in the next town over a couple of years ago. They are both drug addicts and held it up at gunpoint. I'm not sure if the guy is out of the prison yet or not, but the woman got out recently and talked her way into an elderly ladies house and got away with her pocketbook. Stupid, weak, mean, addicted, and desperate.
