Taxpayers Paid Nearly $175 Million For Peni$ Pumps Between 2006 And 2011…
Unreal......

Taxpayers paid nearly $175 million for vacuum erection systems (VES), commonly known as “peni$ pumps,” from 2006 to 2011, according to an inspector general report released on Monday.

The federal government paid more than double the retail price for VES, the Department of Health and Human Services IG found. Medicare prices for the systems, the report said, “remain grossly excessive compared with the amounts that non-Medicare payers pay.”

Medicare paid 473,620 VES claims during calendar years 2006 through 2011, according to the IG report.

Health care policy experts said the revelations in the IG report are a troubling indication of what they describe as wasteful spending in federal health programs.

“The fact that taxpayers have spent more than a quarter of a billion dollars over the past decade on ***** pumps via Medicare is obscene and insulting – even moreso when you consider that this is an arena of Medicare expenditures rife with fraud and where the government doesn’t even bother to assess medical necessity,” said Ben Domenech, a senior fellow at the Heartland Institute.

How much do you want to bet that the price doubles to 65 million/year before Obama leaves office?

We signed a client at work about a year and a half ago that was built entirely around things medicare will pay for.

We initially started with just their catheter division, but they later wanted us to work with their ***** pump division. They told us that they marked them up like 1000% and medicare would cover 100% of the cost for anyone that wanted/needed one.

To prevent Geezer Riots which, coincidentally, would be an awesome cover band name.

In actuality, the Baby Boomers are hell bent on stripping every dime of future generations.

Best waste of money ever. Now give seniors access to free weed. Make them happy in their old age.

That what I'm saying...the path the current GOP is walking could change that if they're not careful.

I'd say that making a generation of dependent retirees would play right into the Lefts agenda. Make everyone a damn welfare recipient.

But they aren't the one's who put them in this situation.

There was a time when companies would give workers a pension for a lifetime of work and loyalty but they wanted to increase profits so they put the burden of retirement on the employees themselves.

Thus, we have a generation of people dependent on the government to make ends meet.

There was a time where we had manufacturing jobs to give workers pensions and such. Both gangs are directly responsible for allowing them to disappear. I'd put much of it on the Left and their onerous regulatory nature. They drove much of the industry abroad and then actually encouraged it. I blame the right for allowing it also.

Yeah, every time we schedule a guy for a prosthesis I'm still amazed that it's covered by Medicare. At least Medicaid doesn't cover them.

Typical liberal finger pointing.

Yeah, it's definitely NOT the fault of the individual for partying their lives away without saving a dime whom now want a bailout.

Wait, you mean companies actually expected people to pay for their own retirement instead of the company paying for their retirement? Oh the humanity!!
