Obama Regime To Reimburse Insurance Companies For Obamacare Losses Up To $1 TRILLION…
[Image: hm4x.jpg]

Makes the law’s official name, the Affordable Care Act, even more absurd.

Robert Laszewski—a prominent consultant to health insurance companies—recently wrote in a remarkably candid blog post that, while Obamacare is almost certain to cause insurance costs to skyrocket even higher than it already has, “insurers won’t be losing a lot of sleep over it.” How can this be? Because insurance companies won’t bear the cost of their own losses—at least not more than about a quarter of them. The other three-quarters will be borne by American taxpayers.

For some reason, President Obama hasn’t talked about this particular feature of his signature legislation. Indeed, it’s bad enough that Obamacare is projected by the Congressional Budget Office to funnel $1,071,000,000,000.00 (that’s $1.071 trillion) over the next decade (2014 to 2023) from American taxpayers, through Washington, to health insurance companies. It’s even worse that Obamacare is trying to coerce Americans into buying those same insurers’ product (although there are escape routes). It’s almost unbelievable that it will also subsidize those same insurers’ losses.

But that’s exactly what it will do—unless Republicans take action. As Laszewski explains, Obamacare contains a “Reinsurance Program that caps big claim costs for insurers (individual plans only).” He writes that “in 2014, 80% of individual costs between $45,000 and $250,000 are paid by the government [read: by taxpayers], for example.”

We have to pass it to know what's in it.

On a serious note, how can he Democrats ever hope to win an election in the next 20 years.

.....because those that benefit from it (the free and subsidized crowd) could care less where the money is coming from...........because it's not them. They will be loyal and staunch Democrat voters to keep the "freebies" coming. It will never change until the whole house of cards collapses.

They'll get the same guilty whites to vote and probably more leeches the next go around. I just hope enough Independent voters come around for the conservatives.

Who didn't see this coming?

Latest report I've now seen- more than half in health insurance exchanges are 45 or over. NOW, how is that self-sustaining?

It's gotta be all you young suckers that pay for this boondoggle you voted for, get busy! You've got a lot of sick old people that need you to support them. You get the government you vote for and elections have consequences.

Enjoy your hopey- changey!

As usual your comments show us that the money spent for your education was totally wasted. Except that is for the college scamming 10s of thousands of $ from you and you have zilch to show for it. Money for nothing. So why don't you give us a break from your clowning around, hum, buttbuddy.

This sounds pretty F'd up. It is though a blog post not backed up with any evidence. I expect this will explode in the headlines if true. Even I find it hard to believe that no one on the right brought this issue up in the debates. I would think it would have been a MAJOR bone of contention.

It was brought up. The "reinsurance" scam was one of, if not the deciding reason the insurance companies went along. They will either be basically guaranteed a new pool of millions of enrollees, OR, when that doesn't pan out, they will be made whole by you and me, the taxpaying suckers.

Enjoy that hopey changey!

And 79% of those enrolled at healthcare.gov are receiving subsidies from the government. Yes that's right only 21% paying full freight.
