et lost the game that mattered.
So none of our other 11 games mattered? Beating 2 in-state P5 rivals doesn't matter? ok.
Congratulation on Marshall victory this season; however, to those few fans who wish to blow their horn (none stop) please remember Marshall's overall record against ECU is 5-10 and 3-6 in Cusa (33%). No disrespect but Marshall is secondary to our playing and beating UNC and NCSU. I am sure if Marshall played and beat West Va. you would feel the same. Regardless, I will be pulling for Marshall to win its first Cusa Championship next season.

Correct. NCSU was terrible this year. UNC is much better than the Army impersonators over yonder.

Please, and Marshall beating a weak Maryland team is impressive? ECU beat both AQ in state rivals by wide margins. What's important is that both Marshall and ECU played very well against teams that are supposed to be better than lowly Conf USA teams.

Here my list:
1. Marshall over Maryland in the Military Bowl (Bowl win over the ACC)
2. North Texas over UNLV in the HOD Bowl (Bowl win over MWC)
3. ECU over Ohio in the Beef O'Brady's Bowl (Bowl win over MAC)
4. ECU over North Carolina (N. Carolina of the ACC won the Belk Bowl)
5. Rice over Marshall (C-USA Title Game)
6. North Texas over Ball State (Ball St. finished 10-2, will play in the Go Daddy Bowl)
7. Marshall over ECU (No one saw that beat down coming)
8. ECU over NC State (win over the ACC)
9. Rice over Kansas (win over the Big 12)
10. North Texas over Rice (only conference loss for Rice)
Honestly why is any regular season win over a MAC team impressive? Question.....why does West Va. or Marshall not play each other? ECU plays @ WVA (2015) and home to WVA (2016). Nothing like beating an in-state school as far as attendance and in-state recruits:)

History? lol
More players in NFL? Nope.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/college/_/letter/e
Higher ranking this year? Nope. And this ranking is before we beat Maryland.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nca...s/3916355/
Head-to-head this year? Nope.

Conference MVP? lol. Scoreboard. Cato owns Carden. 2 of 3. Actually 2-0 since Cato was injured in Greenville last year.
I don't count d1aa small time football stats so congrats at winning agasint the worst competition that gives scholarships. Imagine how many more games ECU would have won or national d1aa champs. I would not trade one 10 win season in D1aa for the whole era of John Thompson.
NFL you have inactives included for Marshall, and Lance Lewis is just one not on the list for ECU.
All the polls that matter have you ranked behind us.
Carden had surgery before your game after we steam rolled another BCS school. So we want count that like you said. Heck this year we almost beat half as many bcs schools as you have in your entire programs history
If Marshall didn't have the HELP program for student athletes you might not even exist. Congrats on getting kids in that can barely read.

Their are multiple reasons why we don't play WVU. We don't want to play them because they won't except a home-home. Our last contract was not to our favor at all. We played in Morganhole five times while only playing in Huntington twice. Also, in our history of playing each other, they never played us when we were better than average.

RE: Biggest C-USA Wins of 2013?
This question is complicated by ECU's departure :). If they were staying in the conference, I'd put the UNC game (1), Marshall-Maryland (2), but since they are leaving I'd have to rate Marshall-Maryland as the tops.
I did thoroughly enjoy ECU's wins over UNC and State tho!

I don't see them playing you unless government pushes for the coal bowl. It is very hard for decent non bcs schools to get home and home. Also Doc played at WVU and left to get head coaching experience so he could coach at WVU in the future. WVU would not hire him without head coaching experience first. If you got rid of the HELP program and took normal students that would help your case. I don't see Dana hanging around to long but his buyout is crazy. Congrats on Doc as well and I think he is a really good coach.

That has absolutely nothing to do with it. The HELP program is open to all Marshall students with learning disabilities as a tutoring and mentoring program. The fact that so many ECU (and other) fans misconstrue the program to be some kind of NQ eligibility racket just shows how uninformed they really are.
http://www.marshall.edu/help/
The only reason WVU will not play Marshall is their perception of power in the state. For them, playing Marshall regularly in football, especially in Huntington, is a sign of a deterioration of their power and a rise in the power of Marshall in terms of state support and control. If the the game was played regularly enough, the existing power imbalance within the state's higher education system would eventually become balanced between the two.
I don't really think that would happen though. They still have nearly twice as many students as Marshall and have a significantly larger endowment. However, there is no denying that there would be some gains by Marshall in the legitimacy of their program and their right to grow into a national university within the state.

Normal means you actually qualify with sat and gpa (the real purpose of a University) Not that others don't take them, Marshall is just a leader in the industry. If you want to specialize a program like this it should be at a community college.

The win over Ball State is important to the conference because Ball State finished 10-2 this season, and our conference was 2-3 versus the MAC this season in the OOC.
UNLV was a middle of the pack MWC team. They finished the regular season 7-5. Five MWC teams had better records then UNLV and six teams had worse records.
Finally wins over G5 schools are extremely important. We have to win more of those games. This season C-USA did not fair as well as it should have in those games, and we suffered all season for it. Many in the media considered C-USA the weakest conference. I don't believe we were, but the bottom programs in our conference certainly lost some games we expected them to win against some G5 schools.

Wrong, the only reason they played was because of the old Governor who is now your senator.
