I think they went down by as much as 29. Ended up losing by 12. Seems like us hanging with Florida and Memphis, for more than a half, and then losing by double figures, is more impressive but who really knows. A loss is a loss.

Our problem is one my now 18 year old grandson, and a longtime UALR season ticket holder, identified several years ago. His exact words?
"UALR always manages to play just well enough to lose". Truer words were never spoken. You only really know how good you are when you beat an Oklahoma, Kentucky, Florida or Memphis. If you lose, it proves nothing. Games last 40 minutes. It's like the horse that's leading after the halfway point and fades and finishes out of the money. That's what we've done. When we start playing 40 minutes and winning, then we'll have something to judge the team by. Until then, we know nothing.04-cheers

I think it was you that pointed out that our lack of depth may be part of the problem. Not really sure if that is it or not. I think we lack depth, but I think it is more the talent at Florida and Memphis stepping up rather than simply fatigue on our part. Unfortunately, our starting 5 can't all play 40 minutes.

Sbc play is coming with 2 road games. Win one of those and you can turn the season around.

Until then its just fools gold that gets up for a little bit but then the fact that we have one d1 win sinks back in on me.

What we lack is depth that can contribute points. Hardly anyone other than three or four of our first six can score consistently at all. We get nothing off the rest of the bench. So it forces Steve to keep guys in the game too long, and against teams like Memphis with guys who can come off the bench with practically no drop off in ability, they just wear you out at the end of games. 04-cheers
