The cost is just too damn much and the timing sucks. If this game was in Detroit and there was no snow in the forecast I'd be first in line.

Seriously. I've never been as hooked by a place on vacation as I was by San Diego this fall.

I know the timing is awkward- all bowl travel is. But if anyone can make it, it's worth it, and you probably won't want to leave.

Just out of curiosity, I was checking real estate prices when we were in SD in 2006. A realtor asked if I wanted to buy a small, delapidated, boarded-up garage for $500K. I graciously declined.

Bot a ticket today. Will drive out on Christmas Day and work from the hotel room before the game.

Would like to go but won't be able to make it.

Missed the last Poinsettia Bowl since I had just gotten back from a 3 week business trip and the wife wouldn't let me go on another trip a few days before Christmas. This time have to drive up to Wisconsin the morning of the 27th for the wife's family reunion.

Also, San Diego is a good trip. Turned a San Diego business trip into a small personal vacation and had a great time. Make sure you visit all the local breweries. :D

I will be driving in from Phoenix with HMM. CAN'T WAIT. See ya'll there.

Hotel $139, and that's the team hotel, so I could've saved money by staying somewhere else.

Leaving O'Hare on the 25th, returning the 27th.

Not sure where others are getting the $1500-$2000 #. Unless it's for 2 people.

FYI, this was the only bowl I would've gone to. Well, except for Phoenix of course. Glad for the players. Always more fun in the sun. Although, it's a night game. Hope it's not a hurricane monsoon like it was vs. TCU.

Don't forget to add the other transportation costs, such as getting from the airport to the hotel and back, and transportation to the game itself.
