I received a call from Paul Kabbes at UAB (205-996-5994) this afternoon asking if I wanted to sign up for the UAB bus trip going to that game. He is sending details to me on email. I saw no mention of the trip on earlier posts so I thought I would mention the call.

A bit late on their part. Serious Basketball travelers have already made their plans.

If anyone wants to take the bus and already have a ticket, the price of transportation would be reduced by the $10 cost of the ticket.

I understand that, but for most that were going to travel, I'd imagine plans have already been made.

Can't believe MT has almost sold this game out?

Their arena holds 11,000 people!

Well...they'll be playing a ranked regional conference opponent who will be bringing fans.

even if you guys are ranked, I'd still find that shocking for them to sell the place out or even come close. Hell they didn't sell the place out but one or two times last year when they won a ridiculous number of games.

Glad to hear ticket sales are going well though. This conference needs as many full houses as it can get, especially if this is a television game.

Are they even opening the upper bowl (wood bleachers)? That is the question that needs to be asked. Every time I have been there they are folded up. That takes off maybe a quarter of capacity. Maybe more.

This is their first CUSA game which to me would explain the excitement.

At least they can fold those up without it really being all that noticeable on television.

I wish Halton was set up more like that. Our lower bowl is small and half our upper level seating is roll away seating (although it has real seating rather than bleachers like MT).

Happy to hear there is some excitement around CUSA hoops at other schools though.

RE: UAB @ MTSU MBB tickets
Well to most of our new fellow conference members, UAB is the Basketball standard, and that isnt a stretch...as we bring more Basketball prestige then most of the other Basketball teams in the conference.
So to the fan who enjoy Basketball, UAB is conference royalty.

UTEP might argue that more basketball prestige, as might Charlotte. One has a national championship, the other has a Final Four.

You sound like Houston fans proclaiming themselves the prestige team of the conference, when they haven't done anything in 20 years

I think we're all pretty equal IMO. Charlotte has a final four and a lot of trips to the tournament since the mid 90's, but we haven't made it past the first weekend since that final four.

You guys on the other hand don't have a final four, but you do have several sweet 16's.

UTEP has a national championship, but I don't think they've had much success getting past the first weekend since then either.

It's hard to argue that anyone else in the same league as our three programs when it comes to history though...until WKU joins.
