CUSA lets them play at Rice
The CUSA Title game is being played at Rice, and there aren't that many people there. If it were being played at Marshall (where it should of been), it would be a packed house. With that said, GO THUNDERING HEARD!!

So we have better attendance in a crappy stadium with a 2 win team than a 9 win team in a conference championship in a crappier stadium?

RE: CUSA lets them play at Rice
We have no right to slam Rice's attendance, as their home game situation is the same as ours. You know damn well that if we were hosting the game and Bammer/Auburn were in the SEC Championship Game we'd struggle to get 30,000.

Rice should've done what we did and flip the sideline...their home side doesn't look that bad.

Not even comparable.

We have a lot more students. Rice is a private research school. Houston is in Rice's backyard.

Also keep in mind that there are a lot of football games today in Texas. The C-USA game is just one being played right now in Houston today. The other is the SWAC game. Look at the stands for the UCF vs SMU game in Dallas right now. And Texas plays Baylor later today.

There was no one at SMU for the UCF game either. SMU would have gone bowling if they won, and UCF is ranked.

All I know is that Rice has higher academic standards than us, and they are winning. Must be the coaching. 05-stirthepot

The question is more on the order is what exceptions are made for Rice's athletic admissions compared to UAB's.

Apples to apples, sir.

Rice did hire a winning head coach from the FCS ranks.

Same with MAC Champion Bowling Green. Hire somebody that has proven they are HC'ing material.............a novel idea!.

Yeah...but there are 300,000 people without power in Dallas. You could barely get to the stadium....half the roads to it were closed.

In general, yes. For football players, I'm not sure that's true
