Holy smokes who went to Baxter?! That place makes Mendota look like Miami. Upperman had a good year if I'm not mistaken, and I really like this idea of them coming down here to get players. While Knoxville had better teams overall, middle Tennesse has more Division I level talent. I think I saw a kid from Blackmon tweeting about ETSU the other night, would be another great addition.

Trevor Gilliam (Dobyns-Bennett Class of 2013) Transferring to ETSU. He wrote a really nice piece about coming home. http://soconrecruiting.com/trevor-gilliam-etsu/

This is a guy that only had one tackle last season in one game played. I guess we just need bodies at this point. Hopefully he can contribute.

http://soconrecruiting.com/drake-powell-etsu/ averaged over a 100 yards per game which is rare in high school. Torbush is putting together a good class; exceptional if you consider still 2 years away from beginning play.

No I think their planning calls for playing at Science Hill in 2015 and to open the 2016 season in the new stadium.

RE: ETSU Recruiting
This class is shaping up like I figured it would. Heavy dose of local/instate players that have talent, and could be developed into FCS level players but definitely need a redshirt year to work on size, strength and speed.
I hope the kid from Blackmon comes. Well coached program and he can bring friends. Fast ones. I still can't believe they lost to Hendersonville in the playoffs.

My apologies if this has already been posted. It's great to see the excitement these kids have to be part of something new and special. Coach T is putting together a solid group from which to build on.

That kind of article is what it is all about. Strengthening bonds between the University and the community is great to see again.

RE: ETSU Recruiting
Is there an up to date list that shows our commitments so far together with players that we have offered? I am thinking we may be getting close to the limit that we can sign in order to have scholarships left for the fourth year.

Thanks! That means we have several more to go this season. We are getting some good players and should get even better next season.

RE: ETSU Recruiting
Were I starting a program, I'd take 20 this year, 25 next year, get 5-10 FCS transfers next year, and give 10 walk-ons that contribute scholarships for their last 1-2 years. That gives you some guys graduating every year so you can start evening out the classes going forward.
