I find it difficult to count Westerrn as a Sun Belt Team anymore. I respect their choice to leave, but wish they would have gone ahead and done it this year. Obviously there were reasons why they couldn't just like the teams coming into the Belt next season. So I don't think of them as a Sun Belt Team now in counting victories in OOC games. I know. Technically they still are. It's just a hollow conference victory!03-hissyfit

Neither of those wins are particularly impressive. I'm waiting for someone in our league to beat a BCS school. We may have to wait until next Friday in Norman.

We have a home and home with UALR this year and we count in your strength of schedule. We are as "in your conference" as we possibly can be.

There was no disrespect intended toward Western. They have always been the class of our league. I just feel it would have better, once they decided to leave, to go ahead. It would be sad for us if they represented the Sun Belt in the NCAA this season if they are leaving. And that could very well happen.04-cheers

No offense taken. I understand the sentiment even if I can't share it.

But even if you are hoping for us to lose in NOLA it still benefits the belt for us to win in the nonconference this year.

I'm not rooting for you to lose by any means. And if we win the league and tournament and you guys win every games except the ones you play against us and come in second, I'll be happy for you.04-cheers

I remember our game against Wright State a few years ago. We got down 0-18 before we called a timeout. Not a good night for players or coaches.01-lauramac2

Tulane won at Southern and beat Loyola-Chicago (MVC). Texas State beat Tulane by 18 points on a neutral site. UT-Arlington lost to Texas by 3 points. Looks like these teams that everyone picked at the bottom of the Sun Belt are not all that bad.

ULL could be the cream of the Belt, but they were no match for Louisville.
I had hoped that with WK's win we might pick up a little momentum tonight, but GaState lost in OT and USA is having trouble with Rice.

We really haven't had a "big" win yet. Best was the #9 conference and SIU has been down for awhile. We probably had the most impressive 35 minutes of any Belt team last night. ASU was out of their game with Nebraska, today, well before the half. The Belt has certainly not been impressive. Just afraid that WKU has a couple of studs sitting out and will put it together before the tournament. ASU has put everything on this season, bringing in 3 senior transfers. I have never seen a team do that. Seems like it is a strategy that could work in a league like ours. May get Brady out of Jonesboro, one way or the other.
