is that really that hard to comprehend CONS???????
seriously if this bothers you enough to spend a night in jail........enroll your kids in private school or home school them
But all families aren't equal. You still don't get it. David's family with a mom and a dad is superior to all of the other alternative families to include single moms. That is what we need to start recognizing again if we want to stop the train wreck.
and who says that? the supreme court? the constitution? the state court?
no ==> your political agenda says that. and i dunno about you but i would much rather have political agenda's left out of the classroom. would you complain if they taught that jews & muslims are inferior to christians and that christianity was the one true religion.
-on second thought you probably would support that ==> but i think you get the point. or you should.
I agree. And the homosexualist agenda should be out of the classroom as well. Marriage and family should be a topic for home, not school, unless you want to pay for a private school that will push your agenda.
lemme ask you two questions. can same sex couples be legally married in that state? is their marriage considered any less valid in the eyes of the law of that state?
so why should it not be taught in school when they talk about all the different types of families?
It doesn't matter. According to that logic, they should end the anti-smoking campaigns and perhaps even be teaching that smoking relieves stress and makes you feel better. After all, the laws of the state say it is legal.

does a neo-nazi complain when his child learns about the WWII concentration camps???
does a KKK member complain when his child learns about MLK????
do you guys have a problem when they teach in school that blacks & whites, men & women, christians, jews, & muslims should all be treated equally?????
so why should you guys bi.tch that they teach about same sex couples when they teach the different types of families?
considering that you guys resort to any reference to gays "as gay propaganda" and that you actually have a problem with a diversity week. you guys sure live up to the names/insults i label you as.....
I don't mind my kids being exposed to this deviance at some point but KINDERGARTEN!?!?!? REALLY!?!?!

part of their curriculum is teaching the different types of families. gay marriage is legal in the state so of course they are gonna explain that matt has to daddies and heather has two mommies and its as simple as that.
their not exactly teach scissoring, 69 or anal sex.
First of all their and they're are not interchangeable and secondly in what universe is it OK to teach this to a five year old? Later on sure, but a five year old does not need exposure to this.
Positive Rep me and I'll vote for Obama in 2016
dude its really not that advanced. all they are talking about is. whats a dad? whats an uncle? whats a brother?
its not gay awareness week they are talking about families so of course they mention ALL the types of families.
I'm fairly certain kindergardeners aren't concerned with a class mates parents familial status. The curriculum is what I'm questioning here, not the merits of gay or straight marriage. You're the one on a tangent.

as someone else mentioned. there is the bullying aspect of it that the school is trying to prevent. thats why they have these diversity orientated teachings in the first place.

1. well for starters i only brought up the legal standing of gay vs regular marriage because you said that one marriage is inferior than the other and that that argument holds enough weight to affect school curriculum ==> i was just debunking that notion.
2. there are plenty of laws that prevent the advertising or promotion of smoking to children and the anti smoking campaigns are the result of court settlements, legislation, or provate groups. so your example doesnt even work

i dont have children. but if i did id rather they grow up in a school environment where they are exposed to that kinda of diversity and the general attitude is acceptance not exclusion. teaching them that sort of stuff from an early age will surely make them more prepared for when they go out and face the real world where you do have to deal with people of several different backgrounds.

Well it ends at your values. Homosexualism may be a part of your values system, but I bet you'd draw the line on inclusion if your child wanted to be friends with someone and you know the parents were druggies. This is forcing your values on my child, plain and simple.

So, you think all that starts in kindergarten with the ABC's and 123's? Really? These kids probably can't spell their own name and you want to talk about the legally recognized forms of marriage? Sorry man, I can't get my apparently feeble mind around the rationale for that one. This wreaks of indoctrination. There is no other reason to bring this up at such a young age. I was hoping you could present an argument for this so we could have a discussion but you can't, aside from..."some kid might get bullied" and that's stupid. IMATY out.

would you call racism only your values system? cuz using that same logic, a racist is taking the right stance when he says its unfair that pro racist agenda's dont get taught to his kids schools.
and heres where you become an idiot. i NEVER draw the line at what my stance is. I draw the line at whats politically correct, morally correct, and is actually correct.....not my personal agenda. if i believed that gays were inferior to straights.....i wouldnt go around trying to force that agenda to be taught in the public schools.
have you ever heard me say that a giant "god doesnt exist" sign should be hung in every public school classroom?
THATS the big difference between you and I. thats what makes me a regular guy while making you an IGNORANT A.S.S

1. you are missing the point. its not about teaching them about marriage but exposing them two different ideas, different backgrounds, and telling them that those backgrounds are ok
2. from an early age a kids environment has an effect on who they become in later life. grow up in a household where everyone yells, screams, or fights to solve problems thats how they will behave. its the same thing with kids growing up in an environment where being different is wrong vs being different is ok
3. in case you havent noticed theres been a pretty massive movement to try to stop bullying especially against gays. how you come to grasp that a school taking a step to attempt to reduce it is an issue is beyond me

i dont have children. but if i did id rather they grow up in a school environment where they are exposed to that kinda of diversity and the general attitude is acceptance not exclusion. teaching them that sort of stuff from an early age will surely make them more prepared for when they go out and face the real world where you do have to deal with people of several different backgrounds.
Well it ends at your values. Homosexualism may be a part of your values system, but I bet you'd draw the line on inclusion if your child wanted to be friends with someone and you know the parents were druggies. This is forcing your values on my child, plain and simple.
would you call racism only your values system? cuz using that same logic, a racist is taking the right stance when he says its unfair that pro racist agenda's dont get taught to his kids schools.
and heres where you become an idiot. i NEVER draw the line at what my stance is.
Stating what you believe is politically correct, morally correct and actually correct is stating your personal agenda. Just sayin

does a neo-nazi complain when his child learns about the WWII concentration camps???
does a KKK member complain when his child learns about MLK????
do you guys have a problem when they teach in school that blacks & whites, men & women, christians, jews, & muslims should all be treated equally?????
so why should you guys bi.tch that they teach about same sex couples when they teach the different types of families?
considering that you guys resort to any reference to gays "as gay propaganda" and that you actually have a problem with a diversity week. you guys sure live up to the names/insults i label you as.....

Curriculum? For families? Whose business is it that Matt has two daddies and Heather has two mommies? Since when is this stuff considered education? Why don't they teach the kids about the Constitution and ask them how many ways it's being ignored these days?

you are correct to a certain extent. however if you had two different cases go through the courts.
school A is being sued for teaching that all types of marriages & couples are the same
school B is getting sued for teaching that some marriages/couples are inferior to others
which school do you think would win?????
so while politics are subjective to our own personal beliefs. there is a certain politically correct standard that applies here.

Considering I already stated that I don't think my beliefs about homosexualism should be taught in the government schools either and that this simply is not a topic for kindergarten, I am not going to argue with your straw man.
If they want to teach homosexualism in schools, they should teach the medical facts in sex ed of increased risk of STDs, lower life expectancy, higher drug use, high incidence of mental health problems, as well as the physical damage to the colon and rectal tissues and the bleeding that occurs with the act. This, however, is not even close to being a kindergarten topic.

guess what......my school taught that stuff as well......
CONS have this flawed vision of this issue that only they can see. what they see as a gay propaganda machine is actually a truthful, non politicalized course curriculum

This is one of those things I don't care about. If the parents are upset then they need to take it up with the local board of education and if need be run for the board.
