RE: Which second SEC team gets a BCS at large?
BCS - Alabama
Sugar - Missouri (11-2)
Capital One - Auburn (10-2)
Cotton Bowl - Texas A&M (9-3)
Outback Bowl - South Carolina (9-3)
Chick-Fil-A Bowl - Georgia (8-4)
Gator Bowl - Mississippi (8-4)
Liberty Bowl - Vanderbilt (8-4)

SEC shorts the Music City, BBVA Compass, and Independence Bowls as Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Florida all finish 5-7.

you forgot LSU.

Sugar I think if A&M is 9-3 will take A&M over Missouri. For one, they need TV viewers with the opponent UCF.

Missouri goes Cap One, LSU Cotton, Auburn Outback, South Carolina Chick-Fil-A, Georgia Gator, Music City Vandy, and Liberty Mississippi.

Unless Auburn gets completely destroyed by Bama, it's looking more and more likely the Sugar will take them. I don't know if a 9-3 A&M team will even be eligible.

It looks like we will have 9 bowl eligible teams. If one is in the BCS national championship then two bowls will have to be covered elsewhere. If none are in the BCS championship then only 1 bowl will need to be covered. But, while I agree that it is likely that Miss State, Tennessee, and Florida all finish 5 - 7 Tennessee still has an outside shot at 6 -6. Vandy is the better team but has a history of choking that game. And I'll give Tennessee the advantage in the Kentucky game.

Here's how it could go down

1) Texas A&M wins out, Auburn loses to Alabama, Alabama in NCG. Auburn goes. I think the Sugar Bowl would rather have TAMU, but Auburn might be a better matchup. Besides, I'm not sure the 3rd best team in the SEC West is going to get a Sugar Bowl slot.

2) Texas A&M wins out, Auburn beats Alabama, then loses to Missouri or South Carolina. Both TAMU and Auburn miss out on the BCS.

3) Mizzou wins out, Auburn loses in a close game to Alabama, Alabama wins the SEC championship and goes to the NCG. I still think that Mizzou loses out to Auburn in that case.

4) South Carolina will only go to a BCS bowl if they win the SEC. Otherwise, they'll have 3 losses AND they have already played UCF, who may be the team the Sugar Bowl has to take.

5) Mizzou might go if Auburn loses badly to Alabama.

I don't see how TAMU gets there as the third place team in their division. USC isn't going with 3 losses. They have to win the conference to go. Mizzou needs Alabama to demolish Auburn and then play Alabama tough.

Alabama and Auburn look very likely to be the SEC's representatives to the BCS this year.

Here is how: Johnny Football's last collegiate game.

(puts maroon tinted glasses on)

If we win out, and given how close the A&M fan base is to NOLA, I dont think the SB hesitates.

IF Tamu wins out I think they probably go to the Sugar. I don't like their chances of winning out though, so I think it will probably be either Auburn or Mizzou assuming Bama goes to the Title Game.

If A&M is 10-2 and Alabama isn't available, Sugar goes for Johnny Autograph.

Don't think it can happen that way. If South Carolina wins out (as you have it), then Mizzou has to win its next two to be in the SEC title game. South Carolina will win the tiebreaker if they are in a 2 way tie with Mizzou or a 3 way tie for the SEC East.

Yeah I'm wrong

TAMU 10-2 Sugar Bowl
Auburn 10-2 Capital One
Mizzou 10-2 Hall of Fame
SC 9-4 Gator Bowl
GA 9-3 Peach Bowl

I think you are forgeting the Cottton bowl. Under your scenario look for Mizzou in the Cotton bowl.

I thought that about Colorado 1994(?) after two last second victories in Ann Arbor and Austin. But they ran into Nebraska, starting a 4 year dynasty. Alabama has a 4 year dynasty running.

And the irony is that it will mean nothing.

Clemson is going to the Orange Bowl no matter if they lay an egg with SC and SC can not get to a BCS bowl because at worst Auburn will be 10-2 and if Auburn beats Bama, Bama gets the second BCS spot.

USC has a path to the Sugar Bowl. But its an inside straight.

1) Either TAMU or Ole Miss must beat Mizzou
2) USC must beat Clemson
3) USC must then beat either Alabama or Auburn in the SEC Championship game.

Do that, and its a trip to New Orleans. Otherwise, its a non-BCS bowl.

Hardly an inside straight. Ole Miss or A&M beating Mizzou are both roughly 50/50. So the odds are one of them does. Unfortunately, that means Spurrier gets in the SEC ccg. Clemson is then irrelevant. They need to beat Alabama or Auburn in the ccg and they are in the Sugar.

Either your memory or your math is off. Auburn was National Champion in the 2010 season and 2011 NCS bowl year. Alabama is on a three year run.

Remember two years ago when the BCS went out of its way to finally put two ACC teams in BCS games? Both fell flat on their faces, including a Clemson humiliation.

FSU is a shoe-in, of course. But I'm not sure anyone will want Clemson, if they lose to South Carolina.

I don't think a "dynasty" just means the years a team wins a title. E.g., when people talk about the Steeler's NFL dynasty of the 1970s, they mean the 4 years in 6 they won the title, 1974-1979, even though two years right in the middle they didn't.

Likewise, Bama is in the midst of a 3-out-of-4 dynasty right now, much like the 1992-1995 Dallas Cowboys.

Not exactly falling on your face when you lose in OT and officiating is questionable like it was in the 2012 Sugar Bowl. .
