Oddly enough, we didn’t see a flood of libs today rushing to condemn Baldwin. What a bunch of hypocrites.

Alec Baldwin just played the, “I have a gay friend” card … putting his male hairdresser on the spot in front of reporters to vouch for his non-homophobia.

It’s shameless, it’s desperate … and quite frankly, it’s sad.

It reeks of “dance monkey, dance” … with Alec asking him straight up — “Am I a homophobe?”

The guy replied, “Yes, bigtime” … but it’s clear he’s joking.

Afterward, we spoke with the hairdresser, who’s openly gay, and he told us, “I don’t think he’s homophobic. I don’t at all. Whenever he is in here, we are always talking and cutting hair. He booked an appointment for today, he always does and he is a good tipper.”

The guy says he was not aware of the video of Alec saying c**ksucking f*g” … but says, “If he did say it … there was probably a good reason behind why.”

I dunno how much AB actually hates gays, if at all. But I do find it funny that he ran out and found the first gay acquaintance he could to validate his open-mindedness, and held a mini press conference outside the salon. Further amusing is that it's a paid worker of his rather than just a regular friend (Baldwin's hairdresser sure isn't going to throw him under the bus on camera and lose his business/tips).

C'mon, he just used it as a "figure of speech". He really doens't hate gays - just like when I call a female a C_nt, it's not like I really think she is one.......except I do.

Point is, his actions don't constitute a homophobe... He acts the same as the rest of us around gay people, but we don't have to go grab a gay friend to state that we're not shaky and hyperventilating everytime a gay is near. Same as blacks, I don't have to grab a black friend of mine just to say I'm not a blackaphobe.

Conservatives are all about fairness.

They are not so up in arms about the "cocksucking" part, as all liberals do that, it is the "Fag" word that they despise. Now if it was one fag to another, then using the word would be a term of endearment.

Every player on my fantasy football team is black except for my QB so Im not racist either. I also work with a gay guy and haven't hit him even once so I'm not a homophobe either. I like Alec's rationale, it makes it easy to be a bigot with no repercussions from the left.

He got his show suspended. We are criticizing him, as we should be.

But we will support him when he campaigns for marriage equality and public policy equality.

The difference between a liberal that makes comments like that and conservative is that a liberal actually has something to fall back on (e.g., public endorsement of equality) when they make comments like that. It doesn't excuse the comments, but it provides a measure of mitigation.
