I would like to see a rivalry built up between Indiana and Kansas for basketball.

I'd like to see some sort of round-robin among Land Grants - Clemson, Michigan State, NC State, VT, Auburn, TAMU, Penn State, Ok State, Iowa State, Oregon State, Washington State, etc.

If that never happens, I'm happy in the AAC (#6 in FB and #3 in BB as of right now) although there is no natural rival for UConn.

Boston College is the perfect rival for UConn. Trouble is, they hate each other TOO MUCH to play.

3 of those teams are ACC; none of them are Big XII. Time for Kansas to the ACC rumors maybe?

(it's been a little slow lately)

Like when Texas and Oklahoma finish playing everybody says the Wes Mantooth "I hate you but Goddamnit do I respect you" in the parking lot. No the only difference is both teams aren't too petty to refuse to play other. And the smaller audience, but it it would be a bigger audience than either team usually gets.

as far as the arizona bell goes, as long as they.....

1. dont brand or etch anything on it

2. incorporate it as a memorial piece not just a glorified trophy

i see it as no harm no foul. the bell was placed at its current location in 2002 despite being in the schools possession since 1946. the way the bell is being used now is just like any normal bell and can be easily replaceable.

prior to 2002 (and maybe they still do) i thought they rang it any time they scored, so i believe it already has football purposes to it.

it would be so cool if the trophy was a bell. that way the players would be even more motivated when the trophy they are playing for is getting rung anytime the opposing team scores

Pitt-Penn State and Pitt-WVU are the obvious ones. It's such a shame.

Oklahoma-Nebraska, Texas-Texas A&M, Syracuse-WVU are other lost rivalries that should be played.

Despite Notre Dame's "hokey pokey" attitude towards ACC football, ND/Florida State would be a fun rivalry.

Army vs. Notre Dame

Every year in NYC.

The game was the Irish's biggest game from the 1910's to the mid 1940's.

It is a travesty that both institutions stopped playing each other on a regular basis.

Knute Rockne would be very displeased by the rivalry's stoppage.

Michigan State and Cincinnati (Football and Basketball), "2nd tier" to O$U and scUM but arguably better than the bigger schools.
Michigan State an Rutgers (Whenever Mascots are present) , Sparty vs the Scarlet Knight.

**I don't really see RU as a rival, but I do like playing RU because I like games near the city and I guess we have history together**

(EDIT: Actually, alternate Cornell and Colgate so that we only play one a year and throw in Miami (FL), Tulane/Temple, and Rutgers/UCONN and you have my ideal football schedule)
(EDIT X2: Give me home and homes with the top 10 basketball games in addition to the yearly regional games of interest, a bunch of local scrubs, and about 2 BCS schools with decent programs, and I would be happy with that schedule, too)

Just and FYI it's St. John's not Saint John's. Saint John's is in Minnesota and is known for it's FB coach who has been there for like 50 years or something.

I'd love to see us play UConn, Cuse and PC (who we play) play each other. I know you guys play other people but we'd be better with for your RPI than Yale, Bryant or cornell

I actually like playing UMASS, too. That said, Cornell is pretty decent some years. I remember watching them play in the sweet 16 in the Dome in '10-11. Albeit they got destroyed by UK, but they still made the sweet 16. Either way, I really like the old school SU-'Gate and SU-Cornell games. Sure SU stomps them into the ground, but 1. they're both elite schools, 2. they're both very local, and 3. we have an extremely long and storied past with both schools.

I was going to scour the internet until I found a St. John's publication/uniform/etc. that said "Saint John's" and give you a snappy response, but you're actually right.

04-bow

Well played...very well played. 04-cheers

I will address this moving forward.

LOL...a Umass fan dissing either BC or Uconn. Let's see - Umass to date since moving up to FBS:

2012 W-L: 1-11...Ave. Attendance: 10,902
2013: W-L (to date): 1-9 Average Attendance: 15,830 (good move inviting all those HS bands for that one game; probably helped you guys just squeeze over the minimum 15,000 requirement this year). I guess a UMass FB fan would know better than anyone about "smaller audiences."

Look, as a Massachusetts native, I hope my state school is able to clear the hurdles and be successful at the FBS level. That said, IMO, as a Umass fan, your commenting or critiquing other programs' "audiences" makes you look just silly.

Why is it too strong a word? It would be a big rivalry in both sports if we played in the same conference. Not to mention a lot of Philly kids at SU, and a lot of battles for recruits in basketball and football.

Rice cares more about UH than anyone else. They also value games against Texas A&M. Relations between both fanbases are rather cordial.

I would like to see ECU play Fresno State and Boise State on a semi-regular basis. I think that the ECU-Fresno series would develop some hate in due time.

BYU and Baylor would also be interesting, but it will never happen.

In the AAC, I think that we'll hate everyone in our division. I'm especially looking forward to the UConn series.
