Update on Larimer Project
I just got an email from the UT Foundation. Here's the part about Larimer:
Quote: (we recently) secured a leadership gift to bring us near the $2.5M in commitments needed to begin construction. As soon as the football season is over we will get underway. The coaching staff will most likely move into the football press tower until it is finished. We shouldn’t skip a beat though. Things should be finished in time for next season.

Yes, please lets see pics. I'm afraid that if they're really not going to do a complete overhaul, it may not look as sweet as we need it to. If all they're doing is 'renovating' the current building, what more could they do to completely modernize it? This is what we need. I say demolish the entire thing and build a brand new one. We gotta keep up with everyone else.

I agree that a whole new building would be awesome, but there probably is not enough time to tear down the current building and build a brand new one in 1 off-season. It couldn't go into the season because you need the locker room, weight room, coaches offices, etc.

Probably would need some extra money to get it done that fast. Anyone have any idea of what they plan on doing?

New coaching offices, cafeteria, workout room, no more ledge overlooking here field. Inside expansion will come to the outer edge of the building. That's all I know.

I vote to trust them on this one...the Savage re-do was great...hoping they will have the same outcome for Larimer! Go Rockets beat the sled dogs!

I may be getting some plan drawings in the near future. When I do I'll share them. I agree with the trust statement.

Maybe the whole nation may have a few recruits we wanted to get a look at it during our nationally broadcast game. I do see your point. Would of been nice. This site should always have inside knowledge before the masses.

Watching the game on TV now on my DVR and just saw the new renderings for the project. Interesting, to say the least. What does everyone think?? Will it keep us in the race for top dogs in terms of facilities which then equates to success on the football field?

RE: Update on Larimer Project
The view of it from the inside of the stadium, right behind the goal post, doesn't really look like anything too special. Sort of bland. Also, the brick walls and the brick buildings which house the visiting locker rooms look like they're going to renovated as well (I certainly would hope so). Is this the plan?

What part of the game was it on? Quarter and time?
