Look at the disparate places these players have come from, and yet Penny sells them on his vision, and also unites them into such a TEAM within months. Penny was known as being very special as a player. Well, Penny is something special as a coach, too.

Seems like I remember Tyler left on his own to transfer because he wasn’t happy here. Then he found the grass was not greener and approached Penny about coming back home. Penny helped him out but only allowed him back as a walk-on and only for one year. Some of the same issues remained that Penny deemed unproductive and chose to move on without him.
Wish him well but I don’t believe Tyler would have made us better at the end of the year or won more games even if he might have helped us win a couple early or while Alo was out.
Unity, defense, floor leader, is what Penny knew he needed and Tyler could only deliver 3’s…sort of. You can still like him, I do, but I don’t buy him making us better this year.
