Good question. It is stuff like this that gave me battered fan syndrome.
Sweet.

Memphis doesn't have the academic, financial or political clout to be P5.

From the team who just now barely squeaked into the Big 12 after 27 years of trying.

I would be curious to know where we rank compared to the rest of the AAC in terms of academics and funding.

Wrong.

Memphis has achieve R-1 Research ranking, Tier One USNWR Tier One academic ranking, has consistently been a Top 25-35 football ranking, and with basketball resetting under Penny.

There is a wonderful research engine called “Google”; please Google athletic budgets and you’ll find Memphis ranked about 50th in an emerging pool of 80 P5 teams.

Your opinion is NOT supported by facts. Quit whining, get informed, and write a check.
Always nice to see the school accomplish things like this. Thanks for posting.

Last year I made this thread doing some comparisons of the conference teams based on the Dept. of Education's College Scorecard. If you scroll down to one of my other posts you'll see links for a more detailed comparison. On a side note it looks like the info has updated. Memphis has improved the graduation rate to 50%. The biggest issue is still withdrawal rate. It's come down 5%, but it's still high compared to the other schools.
