I decided a while ago to stop blaming Ray Watts from staying out of the UAB Football spotlight when he's only doing what I want him to.

Ray Watts wasn't out front at the UAB game probably for the same reason Joe Biden won't be visiting many college football games this season. A Fire Ray Watts chant would have been embarrassing for UAB, as well as being Spectacular. I really think it was one of our best traditions, if short-lived. Seemed to work wonders for our basketball team that season.
He was there, he was even on the jumbotron for a second during one of the TV breaks when they had all the "partners" out there for recognition

I get why he himself wasn't out there in a featured, public way but it's a little weird they didn't have some kind of special program or presentation at any point commemorating the new stadium

Tbh I do talk trash about him but I’m torn. In some instances, I think he’s a wonderful president. The hospital and University are thriving. Just landed $100 million donation. The campaign for UAB passed $1 BILLION last year. New student center, arts and sciences building, new science and engineering building, multiple new dorms (no longer a commuter campus!!!), buying land adjacent to campus to plan for future growth, overseeing enrollment boom. Oh, the new Altec-Stylingers Genomic institute and the record research funding too. He’s done tons of wonderful things. UAB under him seems to be absolutely booming. I wouldn’t be surprised if UAB was a peer school to public schools like Michigan in a decade or two.

But then there’s the whole football debacle which will forever loom over his head. And he refuses to acknowledge it. Athletics seems to be booming due to Ingram and Clark for the most part. I guess Watts is just an academic/medicine guy and he just doesn’t give a rip about sports.

I thought they would at least play some version of this at some point:

He did what he was told to do. I don’t give a rats ass if he was at the game or not, I don’t want to see him. Ingram has actually done good things for athletics and I enjoyed watching him in this moment.

Ingram is the best AD that we could have asked for IMHO. And he deserved every bit of happiness and excitement he had this weekend. He has pulled off something damn near impossible.

I will never forget. I will never forgive.

Get this Game of Thrones chick to horse ride in front of the team like Florida State instead of the motorcycle man

Haase supported football but he was not a fan of that chant during basketball games. He never said it publicly but he thought basketball should be the focus at basketball games.

Ray Watts and the board at the time would've been just as happy for basketball to disappear too. Football wasn't even a majority of the reasons Ray Watts should've been exiled to his Brooklyn condo
Is there an online version of what played on the jumbo pregame?
