---Would UAB, UTSA, & FAU be their top 3 choices, as Dodd seemed to suggest?
---If not, which do you think would be on the AAC's short list?

Thompson just confirmed on Friday that his teams are talking to the AAC. It’s Sunday.
We obviously won’t get a formal announcement until a Tuesday.

Plus there are a lot of moving parts. So until formal announcement process all we can count on are leaks in the media.
Personally, I think BSU not coming is a positive sign for the AFA/CSU. A lot of members over there are sick of them. Maybe SDSU thinks BSU will bring them along to the Big12, but that's a big risk to take especially if Aresco pivots to Nevada. Go AAC!!
Positive for AFA/CSU, but the media deal would turn out better if Boise and SDSU were involved. It would basically combine the 6th best AAC with the valuable brands from the 7th best MWC.

There is no reason for SDSU or any other MWC to join the AAC. Your conference just got gutted. A merger of the best of the rest? A nice thought, though too hard to facilitate. Personally, I'd like to know what the buyout options for Navy and Wichita are however. Bringing them in to the MWC (Navy being football only) and also adding Gonzaga for BB and one more school for all sports would be a solid move for the MWC. SMU likely makes the best sense for all sports. I wouldn't exclude Memphis, but the travel is a bit more.
So first it was No MWC schools were going to AAC because there was no value
Now with the news AF and CSU looking like they are moving the line has changed to, those two add no value to MWC and we are glad they will go.
