Towson smoked Rhody. So much for a weaker Tigers team.

Nova on beat Albany by a TD.

Struggling SBU beat a falling like a rock UD.

Dartmouth beat UNH by 3 scores.

A win over Maine and we’d be sitting pretty.

'Nova-Albany recap from the CAA website. Sound familiar?

"Villanova 17, UAlbany 10

Villanova (5-1, 3-0 CAA) made a big defensive stand late in the fourth quarter and held off UAlbany, 17-10, in a game played in heavy rain. The Great Danes (0-6, 0-4 CAA) got on the board on their opening drive as Karl Mofor found the end zone from 3 yards out to make it 7-0. ...VU pushed its advantage to 17-7 at the half on a 26-yard Cole Bunce field goal and a 15-yard return for a touchdown by TD Ayo-Durojaiye after picking up a mishandled punt attempt by UAlbany. ...Late in the fourth quarter, UAlbany was able to force a VU turnover and then drove to the Wildcats' 10-yard line with under three minutes to go. However, VU's Elijah Glover broke up a fourth down pass with 2:15 to go"

Part of the story here is just how tough it can be to win on the road in the CAA. The undeniably best team (Villanova) literally escaped playing at the last place team in the conference.

Win your 4 CAA home games and split on the road and you’re in the playoffs.

An oddity yesterday is that the JMU game at Richmond didn’t sellout. JMU according to the RTD has 17,000 alums in Richmond.
Richmond sucks and JMU fans don’t care about them anymore.
And Richmond sucks.
Not particularly of interest, but over in the Patriot League Lehigh has managed to score all of 9 points through their first 6 games. It almost seems hard to be that bad on offense

The only CAA game that drew yesterday was Dartmouth at New Hampshire.
Why is Delaware still ranked? Really taints the polls credibility.

"Five Surprising FCS Teams"

W&M would have made this list if we had beaten Maine.

https://theanalyst.com/na/2021/10/five-s...fcs-teams/

Elon beats UNH 24-10.

Spiders losing to Stoney Brook 10-0 early.
Delaware up 10-9 on JMU, at the Half.
Illinois beats #7 Penn State, 20-18, in 9 OVERTIMES.
JMU comes back to beat Delaware 22-10.

I didn't realize there was a change this year that after the second OT, each OT period is each team with one try from the two point spot. No longer from the 25 and a forced two point conversion if you score a TD.

Yeah, it was supposed to shorten the game...
